The Lervick Hotel is a fairly large hotel that’s about a 15-minute walk to downtown. It offers free parking.
The room was comfortable although a little dated. Lots of tv channels. The shower was disappointing- weak water pressure and a shower curtain that was too short. Coffee pot was unduly complicated and difficult to use.
Breakfast was included in our room rate. It consisted of a continental buffet and à la carte hot items. The buffet was lame but the hot food was very good.
Front desk personnel were very helpful. Housekeeping did a great job.
Overall, I found the hotel to be a decent option in Lerwick.
Location
No background music in the club lounge, and felt it needed a bit of TLC
Staff is friendly.
Room was tiny, dated and uncomfortable. The towel heater was right next to the toilet. The food at the restaurant was mediocre. Had to wait 40 minutes for our dinner.
Right first and foremost the location, right in front of the main bay into Lerwick, the wildlife right in front of the window .( personally my favourite was the gannets diving first thing in the morning) artic turns , dolphins, minke whales .
The hotel itself was excellent, the staff were brilliant and friendly even though they were short staffed. Breakfast was excellent, great choice. Dinner again was excellent and going by the fact it was always busy told me they have got the eating experience there spot on .
If I had anything negative to say about the hotel it would be the rooms , they are a bit dated , not sure if I could say 80s or early 90s but the alarm clock had an iPod charging dock on it , old fashioned wardrobes . But the room was spotless , plenty hot water !
Staff were lovely, couldn't do any more to help us.
Furniture and some fittings need updated.
Breakfast was great and the location of hotel good
The shower was strong enough
Reall friendly staff
good and bad, our review is based on the good food and rubbish management of our event
Every two years we visit the Classic Motor Show in Shetland, it has been the tradition of our group to have a post show dinner at the Lerwick Hotel, we have always had a great time... 2026 was a bit different...the food was good... but
we were a party of 17 for a pre booked dinner, this was booked in early 2026 for June 7th 2026, menus were sent around our group and duly given to the hotel. They were informed we had 1 x dairy free, 1 x Gluten free, and 1 x Gluten and Dairy free in our group, menu choices were submitted, A couple of days before the dinner we were asked to submit again the GF and DF options, this we did. The day before the dinner, we were told that our options were not available, and a new list was available, we chose from this and submitted. Then we were told there was a mix up with the kitchen and this list was wrong, we chose again!!, I then confirmed this in person on the morning of the 7th with the Manager at reception. On arrival in the evening, we were told that some of our options were not available "due to the delivery not arriving because of the weather", but some of the original options WERE available... my party are by now, utterly confused, the duty manager quizzed another party member on his DF options... WHY??
We finally got something sorted for everyone, I asked for , and was promised some form of recompense for the hassle..guess what.. we never saw that
We had a cash bar , so no drinks to confuse the bill. The meal was a fixed price, so an easy check out... how wrong can you be.. every one paid £40,00 per head.. I watched and checked.. we had travelled all week with the same friends.. no previous payment issues. The £40.00 per head also included a tip... god knows why... but remarkably we were apparently short by £18... luckily one of the party paid this as well
A truly remarkable and monumental cock up of and evening , spectacularly ruined by incompetent management , Lerwick Hotel enjoy your £700 we paid, or was it less or more, who knows, plus drinks that we paid
Het restaurant
Alhoewel een mooie locatie hadden we uitzicht op parkeerplaats. We moesten vragen voor dagelijkse service van de kamer
Very nice staff. Plenty of parking. Clean. Everything worked in room. Quiet.
Dated decor & the smell of plug in air freshener. Expensive!
god armosfære , mat og betjening. Veldig slitte rom , dusj med dårlig trykk. Generellt så skriker hotellet etter opp pussing,
