Never Ever Book Excursion with TRITON!!!

On 23/05/2025, I went on an excursion to Shark Point. While on the boat, I was given a broken mask that was leaking. I immediately informed the guides, but they told me there were no spare masks available.

The excursion was a failure—I couldn’t properly swim with the sharks or record a video. It was a wasted day.

But my troubles with Triton didn’t end there. They lost all the underwater videos and pictures—they actually lost the camera and just said “Sorry.” Naturally, there's no point expecting any compensation from them.

They also gave me a defective life jacket, so I couldn't swim properly during the excursion.

I also purchased an additional drone video and pictures package for $15. In the end, they just took the money and sent a short video of less than a minute.

Basically, they don’t care—just looking to squeeze money out of people.

Also, don’t book rooms with them. Based on reviews, their rooms have lots of cockroaches, and there’s construction going on right across from them.

There are many alternative hotels that are cheaper and better, such as Arena, Kaani, Kuredhi Beach Inn (with spacious rooms), and Rosemary.

I wanted to speak with the hotel manager to share my feedback about the excursion. At the reception, I was met by Tharindu Barnes. He said he would call the manager. Later, he returned and said the manager would contact me within an hour, but no one ever reached out. This just shows their indifference toward guests—just trying to take your money, with no respect or service.

Tried to reach them on Whatsapp and they totally ignored my messages after a few chat (might just because I’m solo traveler that not benefit them much) and I can tell that they saw my messages. Very rude and bad service. I’m glad I didn’t take the tour from them!

We where a coule and went for short trip manta ray spotting. It was very nice, the guide made alot of videos and after seing the mantas rays even stopped for a ship wreck snorkeling. The price was decent ans theu offered us equipment, water and towela. Higly recommend them.

I want to share about an exciting and amazing trip with the Triton Tours Maafushi team. It was a half day trip to two coral reefs and lunch on an uninhabited island.

What can I say, I chose the best company in Maafushi with a professional team. We were very lucky and met 7 turtles, 3 sharks, many beautiful colorful fish and huge schools of dolphins, who did not leave us until our boat return to the island. I want to express my deep gratitude to the whole friendly and cheerful team - captain Batte, Sheggy, Rebit, Vikash and special thanks to my ‘Paparazzi’ Abichi, who took me a million unforgettable photos and videos. Thank you very much for the great impressions, emotions and happy moments.

Had the best time here! Hotel staff were really helpful and friendly, gave us a great deal and helped us to organise our weekend so everything ran really smoothly. Bedroom was big and comfortable. Food was amazing! Personal favourite was the sweet and sour chicken

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and it was pretty disappointing…. As soon as we got to the room the sink was leaking, the safe was not working and the hotel is very worn down… it needs a serious paint job and furniture upgrade.

Went to the reception and they sent someone to “fix” the sink… after waiting g for a while and calling they finally sent a person to fix the safe but we wasted like an hour to fix the sink and operate de safe box!

That night it was hard to sleep as the bed was a hard as a rock and when I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night there were Cockroaches…. The next morning I talked to them as the sink was leaking again, and to complain about the Cockroaches and to see if they could change our room! They said they would fix the sink again, deep clean and put a thick comforter to make the bed softer.

They cleaned but the following night we found more Cockroaches, even more than before…. The curtains are filthy like they have never washed them as well as the bed cushions, the walls need a couple of layers of paint, the hotel is surrounded but many construction site so it’s quite noise and this is the view you get from the pool view room, so save your money!

The only good thing about this hotel is that it’s very close to the bikini beach and they can provide beach beds and also the tour we took with them was ok as the people were nice, it was advertised as a 9am-2pm tour but it actually ended at 1pm.

If I ever return to the Maldives I will not stay at this hotel as I really dislike cockroaches

I had the pleasure of interacting with Malithi at Triton Beach Hotel, and her swift assistance was nothing short of impressive. When my clients found themselves in a less-than-ideal situation at Crystal Sands Villa due to unexpected construction and dismal room conditions, Malithi stepped in like a superhero. With just one call, she orchestrated a seamless relocation to Triton Beach in a mere 10 minutes. My clients, particularly discerning about hotels and food, are now not just satisfied but genuinely thrilled with their experience. Kudos to Malithi for her remarkable service and turning a potential travel disaster into a delightful stay!

Stayed one night at this hotel and was satisfied with the service . The rooms were large but matress ,towels need replacing.
We went on the Shark Bay expedition and was totally amazed . The crew must be recommended for their enthusiasm and customer service.

All of you are very kind and pleasant.
I spent wonderful time with all of you. And above all I had the best birthday in my life.
We spent a perfect time here with you and your wonderful see and I will recommend you to all of mine friends.

Everything was amazing, people who work here are so friendly, doing everything to make guests happy! Everything is perfect clean, we got sunbeds every day and clean beach towels for free. If you need advice, they will tell you everything you need to know. Absolutely perfect!

I stayed in Triton hotel last Nov .2022 for 5 nights,really I enjoyed alot our stay in this hotel my room was sea view ,each day I woke up on stunning view,also the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful ,also the trips they offered were very nice and well organized, I hope to stay again in this hotel in my next trip to maldives

A lovely hotel, the staff are very friendly, nice and clean. Only a few steps to the public bikini beach, which the hotel provide towels and sunbeds for on request. Great snorkeling trip which the hotel organised. We also opted to take their transport to and from Male airport for $25 each, very organised. Please be aware they mostly only take US dollars in Maafushi, so it's pointless exchanging your currency to their money.

I have visited many times in this island and this was my first stay at Triton beach. After completing all the payments for our rooms and other services we have used. I mentioned that I was very happy about our stay and was ready to depart.

Unfortunately at the last min noticed one of the rooms where we stayed key card missing which actual cost was abt $0.2. They wanted to put a fine charge of $20 they have repeatedly mentioned this. I tried to explain the reception, This was lost last night due to heavy rain while we are outside. We have no issue paying any amount for the services we use in the hotel but as a part of customer care service, this hotel is unable to offer anything!!!
Very poor customer care service I give them 10/0 for their poor customer care service.

We stayed at this hotel for 4D3N. Room is located on the 4th floor. Upon entering the room it is very spacious, with 1 King Bed and a single bed. This room type was the only 1 left on agoda and so we booked it. Price was very reasonable and it includes breakfast.

Bathroom is very spacious and comes with a standing shower and a separate bathtub. The sink also comes in a set of 2, one for each! Bathroom also has a small window overlooking the balcony.

Balcony is also very spacious and comes with a jacuzzi. 2 outdoor chairs and a table. The view however is a no no. This hotel wins for it's spaciousness in everything except for the view. It's ok for us, as we go out every morning to see the ocean!

Staffs at the restaurant where we had breakfast was very friendly and smiling always! And yes we will definitely come back to this Hotel.

I am a solo female traveller. I did not tell the hotel in advance what time I will be arriving. To my surprise, Sharmeel, staff from the hotel was already waiting for me at the ferry terminal. They carried my luggage and walked me to the hotel. Special thanks to Sharmeel to make me feel welcomed the moment i stepped onto the island. He has also been very nice and friendly during my stay there! I will definitely introduce my friends to stay there because of his hospitality!

Hotel is very affordable and in a good location. Tours provided by the hotel are also good and affordable (also shoutout to captain sharif during my half day tour and abichi from my sunset fishing for taking very good care of me). Do take their tours, it is worth it.

Room is clean and big enough for me. Shampoo and shower gel is provided but it will be good to bring your own toileteries. There is also a pool in the hotel but it is so small that you dont want to swim there.

Amazing atmosphere, welcoming staff and spacious room with large bed.

As someone who has worked in 5* properties internationally, I was unsure of what to expect but I needn't have been concerned. From Hasan greeting us on arrival, through the spotless rooms and friendly staff to the departure the stay was great. We are already looking to book for next year. One tip; some of the room balconies look inward so ask for an exterior view.

This review is a bit complicated. We booked the economy option (or whatever it was called) – the option that is not in the main building. The room that we had kept having some of the power going out. Basically, it was the fuse or something for the card that keeps the main lights and air conditioning going. It went out the night we arrived, and someone reset the fuse. It went out again during the night, so I reset it in the morning after waking up hot. Someone at the front desk said it would be fixed. Allegedly someone came, but the problem persisted. On the last night, they moved us to one of the main rooms. Now this room was fantastic! It was way, way, way superior to the economy room. I highly recommend avoiding the economy rooms and booking in the main building. On another positive note, the staff are very friendly.
