Beautiful location
Pros:

Close to the beach and friendly staff.
Nice garden with plenty of seating to be able to relax and chill out.
We only ate in the hotel one night, but the food was tasty and well presented.

Cons:

Most residents were elderly and retired to their rooms early, meaning the evenings were too quiet.

very happy to stay at the Balmoral
Pros:

The Hotel is so comfortable and offers a lounge to sit and relax , an excellent dining room providing a lovely ambiance , fabulous food and lovely staff always at hand to give assistance. The gardens are well kept and there are plenty of tables and chairs to seat guests. There is on site parking and free safe road parking , there is a local bus that stops right outside that takes you down to the Harbour and further should you wish.

Cons:

The cosy rooms are a little small but it is mentioned when booking ,

Friendly clean hotel in a pleasant location.
Pros:

The hotel is a little out of Torquay centre, so quiet which suited us. It was close enough to Meadfoot beach for a pleasant stroll. It was very well presented and the breakfast was great. Lovely friendly staff and atmosphere.

Cons:

We stayed in a ’cosy double room’ which was more cramped than cosy. The other rooms we saw open were far more spacious. If we were to return it would have to be in one of those.

Great short stay!
Pros:

I stayed at the Balmoral for two nights on business and had a really enjoyable stay. I booked one of the cosy rooms overlooking the garden. It was small, as expected from the description, but perfectly adequate, with a comfortable bed, TV and tea/coffee-making facilities.

Breakfast was excellent both mornings, with orders taken and served quickly, always with a smile. There’s also the option to eat outside in good weather, and the hotel has a lovely garden with benches and sun loungers.

The location is very convenient. It’s only a few minutes’ walk down to the seafront and around 15 minutes into town, with the harbour, plenty of restaurants and shops within easy reach. It’s worth knowing that the walk back to the hotel is quite steep, so anyone with limited mobility may prefer a taxi. There’s also no lift, so there are stairs to navigate.

The only other minor point is that the floors are quite creaky and sound does travel between rooms. I could hear people walking around next door and even some snoring! It didn’t bother me as I’m a heavy sleeper, but lighter sleepers may want to bear it in mind.

There is some parking at the front of the property, although the spaces are fairly tight. There also appeared to be plenty of on-street parking nearby.

Overall, very good value, comfortable accommodation and genuinely friendly staff. Nothing really not to like, and I’d happily stay again. In fact, if I were returning to the area, I’d probably check the Balmoral first.

Overall disappointed with our accommodation.
Pros:

Lovely garden. The public areas were fine.
Breakfast was good.

Cons:

Our room was small and the bathroom/ toilet area was very small. There was just enough space to sit on the toilet! Anyone tall or fat would struggle. There was also an unpleasant smell from the toilet most of the time.
