The staff were excellent.
Nothing
Nothing.
The staff were very bad mannered. When we arrived at the hotel, we were confronted by the assistant manager, who didn't greet us in a nice way, we weren't told about checking out times, breakfast times, fire exits and before he would even let us near our room, he insisted that we had to go back to the car park to place a permit in our cars. When we got back in the hotel, he didn't show us to our room. He was very rude. The room was dirty, which I have photos of, dead bugs on the window sills (inside & out) in the bedroom and the bathroom. Also, a few live bugs on the bathroom. The toilet roll was empty and the towels had makeup on them which wasn't mine. Overall, it was a horrendous stay and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!
Breakfast was excellent, staff were very helpful, warm and friendly.
Room was a small, door to the bathroom was not fixed porperly, the fan was not fully operational.
Property smelt amazing, lots of tea and coffee facilities, show and bath freebies, plenty of towels, bed was amazingly comfortable. Location is beautiful
Tv in a silly place without able to hinge move it it’s on the wall in the corner making you having to crick your neck.
Booked last minute as working away but staff had to “check the room” because I’d booked through booking.comI would of thought all room should be ready for service not to be checked if room is ready
Everything else was perfect
Staff are accommodating
The cleanliness and smell in the room have gone down. I used to stay in this hotel in past, and both previous stays were exceptional. I think this hotel has changed ownership, and the quality is not the same.
Location and very friendly staff
Room very warm and struggled to keep cold with the heat wave
The location is good. The garden is beautiful, the restaurant was good. Staff were excellent!
The breakfast was ok, cooked breakfast portions were meagre
The staff were very helpful, great location for the river and walks.
It would have been helpful to have a large scale local map if walks and direction's.
Beautiful locations, comfortable rooms. Great curry menu. Very friendly staff.
Rooms do not have air con and were very hot.
Friendly reception, easy check in. All aspects were fine and inline with my expectation

The location of the property in Symonds Yat (West) is ideal for access to the River Wye and the activities hosted on/in it. Close to the great hostelry that’s Ye Olde Ferrie Inn, and not far upstream from both of the hand-pulled ferries that cross to Symonds Yat (East). Parking is free for hotel customers, with a pass provided at reception. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom was compact, but comfortable enough.
The hotel could do with an uplift, externally it looks a bit tired, but it would be a significant undertaking to make wholesale changes. Internally, it feels dark and slightly claustrophobic, which could be partially solved with modern, well-placed lighting.
The size of bed and the room, view of the garden and friendly staff. Will be back again sometime and hopefully enjoy the garden and evening meal
Would of been better if The cost of room included breakfast or at least continential brekfast.
I stayed in this hotel twice already and the previous stays was amazing.
I booked this hotel with my Husband and this is his first time, and I hype this hotel to him, only to find out that its has changed management and the hotel turned into not what I expected. The smell all around the hotel plus the room is just off.
Very peaceful location and staff extremely helpful
Lack of choice if you do not like Indian food.
Fantastic location in a very scenic area .
External of property in desperate need of cosmetic maintenance.
Probably worth having a contractor look at the flat roof as it currently has a selection of wooden pallets on top of it probably holding down the felt roof coverings.
