The location of the property in Symonds Yat (West) is ideal for access to the River Wye and the activities hosted on/in it. Close to the great hostelry that’s Ye Olde Ferrie Inn, and not far upstream from both of the hand-pulled ferries that cross to Symonds Yat (East). Parking is free for hotel customers, with a pass provided at reception. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom was compact, but comfortable enough.
The hotel could do with an uplift, externally it looks a bit tired, but it would be a significant undertaking to make wholesale changes. Internally, it feels dark and slightly claustrophobic, which could be partially solved with modern, well-placed lighting.
The size of bed and the room, view of the garden and friendly staff. Will be back again sometime and hopefully enjoy the garden and evening meal
Would of been better if The cost of room included breakfast or at least continential brekfast.
I stayed in this hotel twice already and the previous stays was amazing.
I booked this hotel with my Husband and this is his first time, and I hype this hotel to him, only to find out that its has changed management and the hotel turned into not what I expected. The smell all around the hotel plus the room is just off.
Very peaceful location and staff extremely helpful
Lack of choice if you do not like Indian food.
Fantastic location in a very scenic area .
External of property in desperate need of cosmetic maintenance.
Probably worth having a contractor look at the flat roof as it currently has a selection of wooden pallets on top of it probably holding down the felt roof coverings.
The location and food was great
A fantastic location, spotlessly clean and attentive and friendly staff.
Nothing not to like
The staff were attentive and friendly, working hard as there were not enough of them. Overall we would stay again if in the area, but would not come back to stay
Bed mattress was very sunken and my wife has left with her back being aggravated and the shower was very poor indeed but rooms were spacious and it is very quiet, which was nice
Breakfast good, pay at hotel. Staff all so welcoming & friendly. This hotel was reasonably priced & very good value for money. This is a great base for canoeing on the River Wye as canoe hire is next door!!!! Canoeing was brilliant!! Also it was close to Symonds Yat rock lovely views and walks & to visit Ross on Wye.
Lovely. Location, great food.
Friendly staff very accommodating
Nothing
Curry restaurant was excellent
Need to run the taps for some time to get hot water through. Poor flow on the shower.
Friendly staff and easy check in.
The hotel was a great location for visiting symonds yat. We had booked canoe the wye and the end point was next door. The hotel was clean, bed comfy and staff were so lovely. It wasnt a fancy hotel, but suited out needs brilliantly. We would stay again
The plumbing, getting the water right for a shower was tricky but not impossible
Great location - walkable to Wye Adventures which is what we needed. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Beds were so squeaky they woke us up every time the other person moved so we both slept very poorly unfortunately. Would have been fine for a single person or very heavy sleepers. Expensive for what you get.
