Breakfast fantastic.
Shower tray slippery, too many stairs.
Breakfast was OK. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was good
This is a pub with rooms. Only the barman there when I arrived, so a 15 min wait to check in. Advertised as a superior room with balcony, but the "Balcony" was the narrow felted roof of the bay window below, accessible only with difficulty through the narrow opening in the lower secondary glazing of the floor to ceiling windows. Frankly, not worth the extra over a standard double. Inside of the windows was very dirty. Faced the town square, but no nets at the window for privacy, so had to close curtains when changing. Room very hot, but at least a fan was provided. No-one around at check out to report issues. No information in room. I had to get the wi-fi code from the bar - another wait to be served. Quite pleasant on a Sunday and Monday, but very noisy from the bar next door and the street on Saturday night until 1am. Because of the heat, reluctant to close the windows. The main entrance is a popular place for smokers, despite the No Smoking sign. Consequently, littered with fag-ends. The place did not do food in the evenings, which was not clear in the information.
Breakfast was well cooked. No fruit available.
Bed comfortable
Out dated appearance. Carpet dirty on entrance and stairs. Was hoping to go to the bar in the evening. Dark and dingy looking and uninviting. Spent evening in my room as did not feel comfortable anywhere else.
No parking. Was told parking was free in Lidl/co-op car park. This was not true. Paid £4.40 for overnight in Co-op
Bus stop right outside my window and so noisy evening and early morning.
Location was good, a decent Italian restaurant nearby.
Quality of deluxe room did not meet expectations, carpet and furnishing had dust. The shower room was reasonable, but water did not drain and mirror light not functioning. A fan supplied worked but not stable, window closures hard to operate. Curtains ok, but no means of restricting a view into the room apart from pulling the curtains.
Breakfast ok, but sausage was poor quality.
The quirkiness of this place is wonderful and I felt right at home at this pub/ hotel. Best nights sleep in a month after leaving Australia and exploring 4 other countries….
It was too far away off our travel to return for another night…
Lovely staff clean rooms and the breakfast was excellent
Comfortable bed. Helpful staff. Nice bathroom(apart from the shower)
Shower very poor. Very noisy at night.
The staff
It was quite run down
How central it was. It was spotless as well. Beds were extremely comfortable. Loads of storage space. Everything easy to operate and accessible.
There was only one thing really and that was the shower head wouldnt stay up and tilted down too far so it wqs harder to get under the water stream.
Cozy, comfy, a good sized room with a great bathroom, and breakfast included! The staff were very friendly too.
Location
No air con
Very friendly and clean .
Did have air con , but did provide fans .
Staff were brilliant and very helpful and accommodating
Not the hotel's fault but very noisy nearby late at night
Location was great
No parking but knew that…..
We booked on the same evening so it was a great surprise to see this hotel available and with breakfast.
Great location, nice breakfast, fan in the room, friendly staff and busy bar below
The rooms may need some renovation
Decor
Small wardrobe space and lots of stairs to get to your room with luggage and no onsite food
The room was very clean and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was excellent and the staff were helpful. The Angel is a period building and has great charm.
The attractive restaurant was closed for evening meals during my stay. The bathroom shower needed some time to adjust satisfactorily.
The breakfast was good
Room 101 was spacious and comfortable
Plumbing a little noisy but made us laugh
