Categories

Cleanliness
8.8
Multiple reviews praise rooms as 'very clean' and 'comfortable and clean', with one mention of dusty carpets; overall cleanliness is strong.
Service
9.1
Staff repeatedly described as very friendly, helpful and accommodating across reviews; excellent service is a recurring positive.
Location
8.9
Central High Street location, 'perfect' for visits and frequent buses to Milton Keynes praised; limited parking is a noted downside.
Room Quality
7.3
Rooms are described as dated but clean and comfortable, but multiple comments about excessive heat, ineffective fans, windows and staircase issues reduce the score.
Amenities
7.6
Onsite bar/food is good, but lack of fridge, no air conditioning, limited parking and occasional missing toiletries lower the amenities rating.
Value for Money
8.6
Several guests note reasonable room rates and good value; one comment called breakfast a tad pricey but overall value is positive.
Food and Beverage
8.9
Food and cooked breakfasts are frequently praised as delicious and good quality, though a few reviews mention basic breakfast options, overcooked bacon and bar prices.
Overall Experience
7.2
Many guests recommend or would stay again citing friendly staff, cleanliness and location, but recurring issues (heat, noise, parking, stairs) temper the overall experience.

Stayed two nights with my daughters and two dogs and had a great time
Pros:

Very cozy and charming with great character

Cons:

For some reason the Sunday morning breakfast goes from table service to buffet and I have to say it went from very good to very poor

Pros:

Central location accessible to rest of town.
Large room.
Large breakfast.

Cons:

Bar was slow service to say it was not busy. Appreciate costs are high and staff have to do more than one job these days but to be stood around with no one behind the bar to serve for too long was annoying.

Ok
Pros:

Cons:

The rooms very out dated dusty and just the word is out dated it has so much potential to look at least a little nice

The swan offered a good option for overnight stay for a festival at the Milton Keynes Bowl.
Pros:

Breakfast was pretty good the pub itself was very old school and charming. The parking at the back was a big plus and the location was very good too. We had a nice brunch sitting outside in the terrace area in the sunshine. The shower in the room broke with tradition of pub accommodation and was super powerful which was a nice surprise.

Cons:

The staff were not exactly helpful at breakfast and when we asked if there were any more croissants 10 minutes before the breakfast cut off time we were told that no more were available as breakfast was "finishing soon". In general it felt as though the management style was a little officious and not overly welcoming.

Pros:

Localisation géographique

Cons:

Propreté de la chambre négligée : présence de poussière et de toiles d’araignées dans la chambre et la salle de bain. Par ailleurs, la chambre aux équipements obsolètes mériterait une rénovation de fond en comble.

Interesting building from the outside, rather tired and dated inside which was a little disappointing for the cost to st
Pros:

Quirky building with characterful decor

Cons:

Very warm room, a fan had been provided to help I’m not sure having the bathroom heated towel rail on helped.
One of the long life milk pots must have been past its use by date as it resembled yoghurt on opening.
The hot breakfast items were lukewarm and on requesting a latte we were a little surprised to hear that was extra.

Nicht zu empfehlen!
Cons:

Somewhere to lay your head for the night
Pros:

Lovely staff and good location. The bar and dining areas were nice.

Cons:

The room and facilities were old and dated. There was mould on the ceiling of the bathroom. The room is in desperate need of updating
