Cleanliness
6
Multiple reports of stained carpets, a torn robe with a used tissue, flies in buffet areas and general concerns about visible cleanliness — lowers this score.
Service
9.7
Many guests describe staff as very attentive, warm and welcoming; servers and reception/helpful staff praised repeatedly despite one report of an unwelcoming receptionist.
Location
9.5
Consistently praised: beautiful countryside setting, tranquil grounds and good location for walks and exploring the estate.
Room Quality
8.7
Rooms often described as lovely with very comfortable beds and pleasant features (courtyard access, oak bedchamber), but some maintenance issues (spot lights, no hot water in shower, fridge unplugged).
Amenities
8.9
Spa and pool receive strong positive mentions and are recommended; some drawbacks noted (jacuzzi too hot, discrepancy with website about outdoor pools, missing in-room hair dryer/fridge).
Value for Money
8.2
Mixed signals: several guests call food excellent value, but some mention dinner prices as slightly high and concerns about breakfast value given hygiene issues.
Food and Beverage
9.4
Repeated praise for outstanding dinner and breakfast quality and choice; food described as fabulous, though one complaint about buffet hygiene and price.
Overall Experience
10
Majority of reviews describe highly positive, memorable stays (weddings, perfect getaways, would return), giving an excellent overall impression despite some cleanliness/maintenance negatives.

Our short getaway was absolute perfection from start to finish, thank you x
Pros:

Relaxed atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, staff very attentive warm and welcoming.. Most comfortable bed we have ever shared, food excellent value, dinner and breakfast outstanding quality and choice. A memorable wedding day we shall always remember

Cons:

Reminder to guests to bring their swimming costumes when emailing nearer the time so they can enjoy the spa you have to offer. More disabled parking nearer to check in, I had to drop off my husband with our overnight bag and park the car further away.

Lovely building and hotel but missing some essential elements - not enough attention to detail
Pros:

Swimming pool was very nice - jacuzzi - too hot, no outdoor swimming pool and hot tub - but this was shown on the website.
Our room had access to a courtyard which was very pleasant

Cons:

Our booking was changed without consultation from a twin to a double - this caused problems as I was sharing a room with my sister and I needed to make phone calls to rectify this.
I had a torn robe in my room with a used tissue in the pocket
Biscuits were not replenished during our stay and when asked they had run out of biscuits. No milk was left in the room - we had to ask at reception and were provided with 4 small cartons.
Fridge was unplugged and so nothing was cold that we put in the fridge and this was only discovered by us on the last day.
