We were upset & disappointed
Pros:

Stunning location but I missed out on room with a sea view which I thought I'd get by choosing a room with king bed

Cons:

Thought some staff could be more engaging/friendly. Thought daily rate for B&B very expensive in absence of room with a sea view. Thought quality of cooked breakfast/presentation poor. Also a course my wife chose in dining room was tough & unattractively presented. Our bedroom had two lights not functioning which were brought to attention of hotel but not fixed until the next day. Hooks behind bathroom door at about 6 foot height- too high for use. Pull switch for light in vanity unit too high for some.

Had a lovely 2 night stay.
Pros:

Great location for the green way. It was also very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Not what I expected out of 4 star hotel
Pros:

The ladies at breakfast were very nice rest of staff not friendly at all.

Cons:

After having booked a king room with a sea view we were put at the side of the hotel over looking a dirt track and overflow car park room was a double room not king.. bar staff rude.. food just ok.. prices expensive

Great Location, Tired Hotel
Pros:

The location is incredible, with easy access to the Green Way, Achill, Clew Bay Newport and West Port.
Room was ok, bed was very comfortable,

Cons:

The hotel is tired and in need of a freshen up.

In the rooms however they have these strange plug sockets in the rooms which are compatible with neither Irish/UK, European nor American plugs, which is very inconvenient

Mulranny views
Pros:

Im a repeat visitor to this area and this hotel.
A lovely hotel with good rooms/facilities and staffing.

The views out from the veranda area are spectacular and if you stay this should definitely be enjoyed .. with a coke, wine or Guinness.

It is a little highly priced but your personal decision on the location and the evening views will decide if its appropriate.

Come for the locations and views, and the lovely staff but the overall experience is meh.

It’s location is extraordinary with amazing views of Clew Bay

Cons:

The staff are attentive and helpful but it feels like a 3star hotel masquerading as a four star one: it feels shabby and bare minimum. The rooms have kettle but you have to boil them on the floor because of the socket;not all the fixtures and fittings work, and there is a clutter design that makes do rather than enhances the mood or ambience of the public areas.

Location is stunning, and hotel is lovely old building.

Breakfast was lovely and staff very helpful and friendly in breakfast room

Cons:

Bought drinks in bar and went up to room to have them as tables in bar were full of dirty dinner plates. Would have liked to have more drinks but looking at the dirty dinner plates was very off putting. Had stayed here before about 3 years ago and memory came back of same thing happening then - after meal in bar plates were left on the tables, no sign of them being cleared up. Not sure if its a policy to wait until guests clear out of the bar before the tables are cleared.
Quilts on bed very heavy for time of year, room was quite warm and couldn't open window much.

The location is beautiful for views.

Cons:

From arrival, the outside of the hotel certainly doesn't match the photos advertised. The hotel and grounds are extremely unkempt. If you didn't know better, it appears closed.

Our room was spacious but not at all clean. The furniture apart from the bed was all scratched and the walls are very much in need of a paint. The bathroom again was nothing like advertised on this site. It was dark, dirty and the shower curtain was filthy. After requesting housekeeping to fix it on two separate trios to reception we were then moved to another room which was much better but again needs maintenance attention. The bathroom floor tiles some had no grout . The windows all need painting and upkeep to stop the letting draft in.

There is a green carpet on the stairs to reception, which is absolutely disgusting it's so dirty and full of stains.

The food is also very poor. For example the Chicken Tikka sandwich in the 4 star hotel is processed sandwich spread on poor quality white sliced pan.. Breakfast was a little better except everything except the tomatoes and eggs on the hot breakfast are deep-fried.

The leasure facilities are dreadful. The poolmand jacuzzi appear dirty. The tiles in the whole place are again in dire need of cleaning , updating and maintenance is also needed . No handles or locks on most lockers.

A disappointing stay. The Hotel needs a lot of work and cleaning. The staff are very friendly but unfortunately I do not know how this hotel has 4 stars and is charging the prices they are at present.
