Pros:

The location is beautiful for views.

Cons:

From arrival, the outside of the hotel certainly doesn't match the photos advertised. The hotel and grounds are extremely unkempt. If you didn't know better, it appears closed.

Our room was spacious but not at all clean. The furniture apart from the bed was all scratched and the walls are very much in need of a paint. The bathroom again was nothing like advertised on this site. It was dark, dirty and the shower curtain was filthy. After requesting housekeeping to fix it on two separate trios to reception we were then moved to another room which was much better but again needs maintenance attention. The bathroom floor tiles some had no grout . The windows all need painting and upkeep to stop the letting draft in.

There is a green carpet on the stairs to reception, which is absolutely disgusting it's so dirty and full of stains.

The food is also very poor. For example the Chicken Tikka sandwich in the 4 star hotel is processed sandwich spread on poor quality white sliced pan.. Breakfast was a little better except everything except the tomatoes and eggs on the hot breakfast are deep-fried.

The leasure facilities are dreadful. The poolmand jacuzzi appear dirty. The tiles in the whole place are again in dire need of cleaning , updating and maintenance is also needed . No handles or locks on most lockers.

A disappointing stay. The Hotel needs a lot of work and cleaning. The staff are very friendly but unfortunately I do not know how this hotel has 4 stars and is charging the prices they are at present.

Comfortable hotel in a great location with a good spa
Pros:

I like the old Irish country house feel about this hotel, particularly in the dining room. The breakfasts were excellent. The spa was great. Wonderful view from the front.

Only good thing was the bed and view one the worst stays ever besides

Few hairs in in bathroom booked a table for dinner said it was fine to book and they give it to someone else very bad service at dinner then and just overall poor service

Pros:

We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the hotel itself. It proved to be a relaxing and enjoyable stay, even if the weather was less than perfect. The staff were friendly, well-informed and the service and food in the restaurant were excellent. We also enjoyed the boat-trip on Clew Bay.

Hôtel mal entretenu , service nul … le plus mauvais irish Coffee du séjour ! Literie horrible , rideau de douche immonde … et hôtel certes avec une belle vue mais aussi devant une route passante
Nous devions y passer 2 nuits , nous nous sommes sauvés après 1 nuit …

Belle situation
Pros:

Hôtel très bien situé avec une vue splendide sur la mer.
Espace loisir de très bon niveau. Nous avons pu profiter de la grande piscine et de ses installations.
Personnel à l'écoute de nos demandes.

Cons:

Établissement vieillot qui mériterait une rénovation.
Trop cher par rapport aux hébergements que nous avions réservés pour notre séjour.

Late booking with booking.com, we could have stayed anywhere but attracted by the location.
Pros:

They have one of the best locations in Ireland, but need to continue to modernise (in keeping with the historical quality of the building they are lucky to be the guardians of). Best Wishes, we will return soon.

Great place to stay if cycling or touring the Wild Atlantic Way
Pros:

As I am cycling around the coast of Ireland the hotel is at a great location for the greenway to Achill island and Westport.
All of the staff were very helpful and friendly, my room was very good, the food and the local Mayo lager were excellent
