Pleasant but a bit disappointing.
Pros:

Great location close to main hiking rocks, also walking distance from local restaurants. Nice to have a pool. Nice bar area. Breakfast had a good selection. Staff helpful in ordering early morning tuk tuk's for sunrise hikes. Nice pool area and sun loungers.

Cons:

Points that could be adjusted for a better guest experience. Rooms all need updating and repainting, lots of stains on the walls. Old sheets with rips and ratty towels. Bathrooms need updating and thoroughly cleaning. Black mould on grouting in bathroom and on wall near aircon unit. Bed was two singles made into a double, but kept moving apart. Lots of flies all over the breakfast, I know you can't avoid flies but it could be covered a lot better particularly the pastries and fruit which were inedible due to the amount of flies all over them. Lots of things on the menu not available, e.g. wines, certain cocktails/spirits and food on the menu (no lettuce for salad). Staff lighting bonfires in the gardens next to the pool when guests using the pool area so is very smokey and breathing in smoke.

Un’ottima base per visitare la Lion Rock, immersa nel verde
Pros:

Ci siamo trovati bene in questa struttura, soprattutto per l’ottima posizione, perfetta per visitare la Lion Rock. Nei dintorni dell’hotel si trovano comodamente negozietti, supermercati e diversi centri dove fare massaggi ayurvedici: ne abbiamo provato uno proprio nelle vicinanze e ci siamo trovati molto bene.

Avevamo scelto la mezza pensione, con colazione e cena incluse. La colazione era buona, mentre la cena a buffet è stata particolarmente piacevole, con una buona scelta e molto pesce preparato alla griglia. La cena all’aperto, accompagnata dalla musica dal vivo, rendeva l’atmosfera molto piacevole.

La struttura dispone anche di una bella piscina, circondata dal verde e frequentata persino da alcune simpatiche scimmie. I lettini erano liberamente disponibili e il servizio bar è stato ottimo: abbiamo provato due cocktail, entrambi molto buoni.

La camera era nel complesso confortevole e dotata di tutti i principali comfort, tra cui aria condizionata, ventilatore e frigorifero. Molto interessante anche la possibilità di acquistare un’esperienza extra in realtà aumentata che permette di vedere come doveva apparire la Rocca del Leone in passato: un’idea originale e divertente, che aiuta anche a immaginare meglio ciò che si vedrà durante la visita.

Cons:

La camera era forse un po’ buia e il bagno avrebbe potuto essere più pulito, soprattutto per quanto riguarda il pavimento. Abbiamo inoltre sentito la mancanza di una zanzariera, che in una zona come questa sarebbe stata sicuramente utile. Gli asciugamani tutti sgualciti.

Per il resto, il soggiorno è stato piacevole e la struttura ha rappresentato un’ottima base per visitare la zona di Sigiriya.

Very restful spot in a good location
Pros:

Nice airy reception and restaurant area with a lovely pool at the back of the property. Lovely friendly staff and all amenities as stated.

Cons:

I would probably ask for a room away from the road at the back by the pool but that’s because we like it quiet. The rooms were well sound proofed though Thank you

Overall comfortable, worn out, and a little overpriced
Pros:

Breakfast was nice. Location was ok - close to restaurants and you can see the lion’s peak. Staff were really nice. Good AC.

Cons:

Towels were worn out. Water pressure was very weak. Do not recommend eating dinner there - very expensive compared to other places and the food wasn’t so good. The pool was broken so we didn’t go in..

Lovely hotel but needs a little TLC
Pros:

The location is great. I loved the charm of the hotel and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The bed was super comfortable. The buffet breakfast was delicious.

Cons:

The bathroom needs a serious deep clean. I don’t think the shower recess has had any type of cleaning for years.

Zimmer war sehr schmutzig, hatten an der Wand viele Ameisen. In der Nacht war es sehr laut aufgrund dem Bellen von Hünden das man mehrmals erwacht ist. Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen..

Pros:

Location was amazing, the warm welcome very much appreciated. The staff were super friendly the rooms large and spacious. We enjoyed the bar and pool area and the hotel is perfectly located for climbing Sigiriya Rock.

Cons:

Only issue we had was we had a lot of ants in our bathroom and we asked to get them cleaned but had to ask twice. Obviously we understand when you're staying in nature bugs are part of the deal but it would have been good if this was sorted before we checked in or at least without us having to ask twice. Otherwise everything was lovely and clean and the staff incredibly helpful and friendly.

Pros:

Zalig hoe alle plekken om te zitten open zijn, overal luchtig en licht. Fantastisch lief personeel, helpen constant indien nodig. Zeer lekker en uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet, mooie kamers met zalige bedden. Goede airco en fan, ook super om te lunchen en dineren. Heel dichtbij Lion's Rock! Daar ook safari geregeld naar Kaudulla met zeer goede gids.
