Golden Temple Retreat

This hotel sets the highest standard for hospitality and service. The staff is extremely personable, friendly, and attentive. I wish my family could spend more time here. We enjoyed an exceptional tour with Som, a brilliant local guide that the hotel partners with, who taught us all about Cambodian ancient history, religious practices, colonial history, and contemporary challenges. We woke up well before sunrise to take fantastic pictures of Angkor Wat, and later had a hotel catered breakfast on a boat before walking around the second temple site. I really enjoyed talking to Kia, one of the hotel’s kitchen staff, who gave even more insights into the local culture. We also had massages at the hotel, which were very relaxing, convenient, and thorough. There was also a traditional Khmer dance show with a five course dinner. It was delicious and I really liked the performance. The hotel room itself was also very nice and the affordable room service was excellent. The hotel is right nearby the night market and it was fun to walk around and explore. We only spent two nights here but we packed in enough activity and enjoyment for a much longer duration. I would strongly recommend this hotel!

Amazing experience from the moment I arrived. The staff welcomed me warmly with a refreshing welcome drink, which was a nice touch. The room was spacious, clean, and offered excellent value for the price. Wifi is decent too. Everything exceeded my expectations, and the service throughout my stay was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We really enjoyed our stay at Golden Temple Retreat Hotel. Excellent location 10 mins walk from riverside and pub street. Welcoming friendly staff. Lovely breakfast buffet. Swimming pool is great for a relaxing swim visiting the temples or unwind with a massage. Excellent rooms and bathrooms are wonderful. Recommended very highly.

As a teacher on an extended vacation in SE Asia, my original plan was primarily to stay within Vietnam with maybe a side trip to Bangkok and Singapore sometime in between, but on a whim, I also decided to take a three day trip to Siem Reap to visit Angkor Wat and other temples. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, particularly with the accommodations because you can never really tell—even based on reviews online. But The Golden Temple Retreat was a beautiful, tranquil, and welcoming oasis after a long day of traveling. Even my driver commented that i was staying at a nice place on the long drive in from the airport. The moment I arrived, a cold towel and a welcome drink along with tasty snacks—fresh banana chips and really flavorful peanuts roasted with herbs and spices. My room was so spacious! Very elegant and comfortable with a rain shower and a generously sized tub. But more importantly, the staff was so warm, welcoming, kind, and accommodating—always ready to attend to your every need, whether it’s an umbrella for the day or if you need to exchange cash for smaller bills. Location-wise, it’s situated near the center of town and I basically walked everywhere; so it’s really convenient. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

I was so happy at this hotel that I extended my stay, from 3 to 5 nights. The service was beyond anything I'd experienced in Cambodia. Lucas and Nat were incredibly kind, generous and helpful, as was the entire staff.
My room was spotless. The bed was among the most comfortable I've slept on, and the shower and bathtub were both spa-level amazing.
One would expect to pay much more for the perfection that is the Golden Temple Retreat.

Very good breakfast, spacious clean comfortable room, very quiet lovely swimming pool and nice spa. Located just a 3 min tuk tuk away to all attractions in the city.
We also booked airport transfers and some tailored tours with the hotel and all were fabulous

Everything was perfect to be honest. I made use of the spa and the Apsara meal/performance, and was well worth it!

This is definitely one of the best hotels, I‘m ever tried! The standard of service is at a top,top level. All staff is really friendly and smiling naturally. I‘m used to travelling in Asia, and smiling is sometimes more like a must than naturally.
Everything is clean and well organized. The rooms are big. The breakfast is excellent.
If you have the chance, you should definitely book this hotel.
I would like to point out Ms. Nat at the reception. Once arrived, she knew all my bookings made through the hotel (Angkor Wat trip, massage, dance show). And her knowledgement wasn‘t written on a piece of paper, but stored in her head. In general she‘s such a friendly and service minded person.
I would also like to point out Mr. Som. He was my private guide during the Angkor Wat one-day trip. He knew extremely much about all the temples and was able to tell it in an easy-going way. Also so easy and plesent to talk to him about the city and Cambodia in general. Som, what a pleasure and once again many thanks.

The Golden Temple is truly a retreat! - an oasis for tired and weary bodies. The staff is generously kind and attentive. You are greeted with a refreshing yea and feet wash upon entry. My facial was one of the most soothing I’ve ever had. The aroma of the ingredients was delightful to the senses. And the conclusion with a ginger tea and fruit snack completes the experience. I hope everyone who comes to Siem Reap can come enjoy this wonderful opportunity and experience.
