Paje Beach Apartments & Hotel

Great food. Great staff. Had the best time. The cocktails were amazing! Loved the sea food platter

We stayed at the Paje Beach Apartments and Hotel from december 29th to the 7th Jan, located near the centre of Paje and right on the beach.

We stayed in a 2 bed apartment (no 1) it had all the facilities you needed a kitchen, fridge air con 2 large bathrooms and overlooked the pool. The beds were very large and comfortable which was great after some uncomfortable beds we have had.
We had a big bottle of water with a pump that was changed when low.

You can ask them to do washing for you which is very reasonable and done by a 5Kilo bag.

There is a lovely restaurant onsite, Ocean, that serves breakfast, as we had it included in our stay, lunch and dinner, they also have specials on every day too.
The seafood was amazing!
They had a lovely drinks menu too and lots of cocktails, albeit not made with premium alcohol, however you could ask for it as they did have premium brands.

There's a lot of water sports on your doorstep, from jet skis, kite surfing, diving and snorkeling trips from Buccaneer diving and all on site.

We were also here for NYE, which was fun and lots of fireworks on the beach.

They have a resident cat called Luna who the kids loved and he is very sweet.

It's a lovely location easily accessible to many areas of interest, it has a really relaxed vibe and amazing staff and you can walk along the beach for miles.
All the staff will do anything to help which was lovely.

Paje Beach Apartments and hotel is a strong choice if you value a beachfront with direct access to the beach. clean,comfortable and huge rooms.the staff is very nice.

Loved staying here! Location is perfect, service is great and the rooms are big and clean. I also really liked the dive senter that is connected to the hotel.

What a fantastic spot in Paje, Zanzibar! The food at the Ocean Restaurant is top-notch, and the DJ night was just awesome. Big thanks to RRV Expedition for taking care of all the arrangements.

The staff here are simply amazing, especially Martha. She went above and beyond to look after all our requests, and even surprised my wife with a birthday cake at the Rock Restaurant.

Overall, it’s a fantastic place with great food, lovely people, and unforgettable vibes. Highly recommended!

Had a lovely stay here, staff are super friendly and can’t do enough for you, accommodation is excellent and very clean and you are right on the beach. Ocean restaurant is attached to the hotel and does a nice breakfast for residents and is then open for lunch and dinner (very reasonably priced). There is also a lovely bar area and a couple of small supermarkets easily walkable should you need anything.

The best experience I could imagine.
Everything was set upon our arrival at 3 AM, and we had the possibility to check in in the morning. The room was beautiful, with an even more beautiful view. Our feet were on the beach just steps away from breakfast; everything was clean and cozy! A lovely surprise for my sister’s birthday was prepared before we arrived, and there was no need to mention it. Everyone knew exactly what to do, and we were surprised with photos, while everyone came to sing and dance. It was amazing.
The food is authentic and tasty, whether you choose from the menu or during the special nights with a buffet and music.
And last, but most importantly, the people who received and took care of us were absolutely amazing! Kind, always available, always with a smile. I really hope to come back!

Her har man alt man trenger for å slappe av og nyte ferien på Zanzibar.

Super nettes Personal, gute frühstücksauswahl und das Kaffee und Restaurant waren auch gut. Die Zimmer waren schön, sauber und gut ausgestattet. Shampoo und Duschgel waren vorhanden. Ausflüge und Transfers wurden zuverlässig für uns organisiert. Es gab immer mal wieder Stromausfall, das war aber in der ganzen Gegend so.

We have come to the end of our 2nd magical holiday in Zanzibar.
It's also our 2nd stay at Paje beach apartments and it's even better than before. (Last visit was Dec 2018)
The upgrade to the pool area makes a significant difference, 2 pools with loungers, a few steps from the gorgeous ocean, make this place very special.
The food in Paje was as delicious as before.

Mr Kahawi (2 min walk down the beach) was still our go to for breakfast (also the BEST cappuccinos!), lunch AND dinner menu is great, probably the best setting on the beach. Great live music too.

Mahali (next door to Mr Kahawa) is also good for food options and having drinks overlooking the sea. Very special! Delicious Paje Fish Curry and best hot chips!

To the left of the apartment is Delight Zanzibar which serves the most outstanding pizza and greek salads! No alcohol allowed there though, so if this is an issue take the pizza away. Also they don't accept credit cards, only cash or PayPal.

We shopped at the brilliant new supermarket (5 min from the apartments), very impressive!
Benton food stalls are a must, delicious burgers, hotdogs, ice cream and just a good selection of food options (just 3 min up the road from the supermarket).
Worth a walk along the main road (10 min from apartments) as we found a great bakery and cool spot for breakfast at The Garten hotel, there are also banks and Bureau de Change etc.

The Paje apartments was still the best accommodation for us.
The large, comfortable bedrooms and small kitchen with dining table and lounge area was a huge advantage. Fridge, toaster, microwave, oven, kettle... all the amenities to make it a comfortable stay.
A large drinkable water dispenser is in the apartment and topped up regularly which is a great addition!
And the fans and aircon are a win, as always!!
The staff are very helpful and friendly, there are MANY power cuts during the day and night and they are always on hand to try and sort it quickly.
Everyone is kind and always ready to help or offer a smile.
A special mention of Didi from Buccaneer diving who was remarkably kind to our kid and took him for a swim with scuba gear in the pool. What an absolute gem of a human!!
Also do treat yourself to a yoga class with lovely Agnes (Tuesday & Friday 07h30) - gorgeous way to start the day!

We felt very safe and the Paje apartments are super safe, we often forgot sunglasses or goggles at the pool overnight and they were still there the next morning.
This is a holiday we will certainly be doing again, I would HIGHLY recommend a visit!

Nice hotel in the middel of Paje beach. Beds where really good, bathroom was pretty simple. Great pool area with bar and access to beach. Really nice staff. Lots of restaurants nearby such as Shanga next door, and also a skybar across the street.

What a great hotel, highly recommend staying here if in Zanzibar. Rooms lovely, clean and airy, staff wonderful so helpful and friendly, food amazing. It's directly on the beach and next door to buccaneer diving which I can also highly recommend.

Nice property with kind staff. Very good prices on food and drinks. The neighbouring restaurant however is very loud on weekends.

As a family with 4 teenagers we stayed in Paje Beach Appartments for 11 days. We have enjoyed it só much. The appartment (4p) as well as the hotelroom (3) were as clean and neat as possible. The people working here, at the bar and restaurant, the reception and cleaning service are always very friendly and helpful. The pool is perfect, fresh and always clean. The location is fantastic, directly situated on the white beach, right next to the Buccanneer Diving Centre and Aquaholics Kite & Surf (which we can recomand as well!).
Last but not least the breakfast, lunch en diner are also very good. Thank you so much for our great vacation team PBA. We will definately come back ☀️.

Dejligt hotel, altid liggestole ledige, wifi virkede ok

Pros: nice staff, helpful.
Cons: room 108 is a very noisy room, it’s basically a pubic walk way to the diving school, there is constant coming and going’s outside your door. I lost count of the amount of people that stand outside this room and stare at themselves in the mirrored door to this room, it’s very annoying. Also this property has several power cuts a day, one power cut lasted well over an hour, I went to the ATM in town to pass time during the power cut, I came back and still no power. Then there was a power cut late in the evening when I was having a shower and the water went cold, it was pitch black and I ended up colliding with the bathroom door trying to find my way to my phone so that I could use my phone light.
Also very annoying is the people that constantly hatrass you on the beach, they are relentless, ut becomes very stressful asking to be left alone every 5 minutes. I wanted to just have a peaceful walk along the beach and it is impossible. I even put my headphones on in the hope that I wouldn’t be harassed because I couldn’t hear them, but they walk alongside you anyway and persistently try getting your attention. I would not return to Zanzibar again because of this.

Property was amazing, cleanliness aswell, staff very friendly and welcoming.
