Peace and quiet
Perfect for a private dining birthday dinner. Banqueting staff well organised, attentive and the evening ran amazingly. Breakfast delicious.
The rooms are very expensive, more expensive than staying in central London. Breakfast staff could be more aware.
Location and stateliness
Breakfast was a bit mean with tea. Had to ask for more.
Once again, fulfilled our expectation in every way.
Some discount as we attended the theatre.
Everything was perfect, my husband & I celebrated our Diamond Wedding Anniversary together with a first time visit to the Theatre show which was fantastic and later dinner in the Orangery and then overnight stay - we loved everything, only comment was that the Orangery had only 4 couples dining and therefore lacked atmosphere!
The breakfast menu was very varied and of a wonderful standard - full English for hubby but I can recommend the pancakes!!
Nothing
Beautiful property in a terrific location. Very elegant and well presented. Nice artwork and furniture. Lovely grounds. Room cleaning staff were excellent.
Needs some investment. Carpet’s worn out in some areas. Rooms need some updating. A fridge would be a good start. The outside area lacked sufficient shade for a sunny day. Need more parasols. Service staff not well trained or managed. Service standards not high enough. The lager’s were not ever refrigerated. Breakfast was chaotic even though it wasn’t particularly busy. Tables not cleared during the meal. Had avocado on toast. It was low quality manufactured purée! The side order of bacon was half a rasher streaked with white foam! Awful. One morning the tea and coffee was served in airline style jugs. It was really hard to get a refill and as the meal progressed the tea got weaker and weaker. They weren’t replenishing the tea, just refilling the jugs with warm water. No-one seemed in charge and the staff were young clearly lacked training and organisation. They just didn’t get the basics. The drinks billing at dinner was confusing. We were one group, but I think we paid on three separate invoices. Lot’s to work on.
