A great place to stay in such a lovely quaint old street. A lovely room with a comfortable bed and great shower and in such a great pub. I definitely recommend The Royal to stay if in the area.

The food at the Royal is excellent.
The breakfast was amazing.
The room had everything you could wish for. We had a small flask with fresh milk, ground coffee bags tea hot chocolate, bottles of water,all the toiletries.
The bed was super comfy.
We will definitely return here.

In the morning we wanted to make a drink in the room but the coffee hadn't been replenished after the previous occupants. Also no biscuits or hot chocolate sachets. By the time we realised it was breakfast time so didn't say anything.
Bedroom was good with well presented en-suite and all exceptionally clean with good quality towels. Great selection on the breakfast menu - everything you could ask for really- with a good selection on the cold table. Plenty of free onsite parking !
No air conditioning! However there was a table fan for your use but was a little noisy as I'm a light sleeper. A suggestion I have for the hotel would be a magnifying mirror in the bathroom and perhaps a full length mirror.
The breakfasts were great. The Hotel was quaint and the room looked nice.
I had a few complaints over food and service whilst there. One of the issues they tried to resolve and on it's own would have been satisfactory but by the 3rd day, things went downhill. I have tried to contact them by phone to discuss a resolution and I have now waited 3 days for them to come back to me and I still haven't had a call or an email.

Smoking allowed in outdoor eating and drinking areas. A separate area for people who smoke would be good.
Location is great. Room was lovely, great shower and products, fresh milk in room and quality coffee bags! Bar meal was fabulous
It was a very hot evening /night abd although there was a fan there’s no AC.
