This was probably the nicest if not the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in I am a big traveler. They upgraded our room and we got so many perks for being AMEX customers. Everything was top notch from the customer service to Sofia's restaurant. A++++
From valet, to a late check in, to the smells - My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. Great location across from the Performing Arts Center and nightlife.
Staff was extremely polite and there were a lot of extra complimentary drinks and snacks in the room
There really wasn't anything I didn't like
This is the third time I’ve stayed at this hotel. It is lovely and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and pillows. I would recommend an interior room, as the street-view rooms can be quite noisy.
The Lounge is a great place for a drink or a meal, and the complimentary Happy Hour drink is a nice touch!
My reason for the 3-star rating is that, on all three stays, I’ve found an incorrect minibar charge on my final bill for items I did not take. Each time, I’ve called the hotel and they have removed the charge without question, which I appreciate. However, having this happen every single time is frustrating and makes me wonder whether these charges are being added in the hope that guests won’t notice. I shouldn’t have to check my bill so carefully to make sure I’m not being charged for things I didn’t use.
Front desk/check in - absolutely wonderful!! Security team - a bit lax sometimes, especially late at night. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and spacious, with luxurious amenities. Street noise can be an issue, and since the hotel has only two floors, I suppose it is unavoidable. The restaurant is more of a "lounge," and the dinner menu is extremely limited—happy hour is nice, but the food could use a serious upgrade—especially for the pricing. In short, this property needs a real chef! However, the great location offers more viable options in the immediate area. I'll be back!
Great location in upturn Charlotte. Very lovely room with comfortable bed. Nice atmosphere. Very clean room. Room service for breakfast was good but very pricey. We enjoyed our stay but would point out that it is not quiet at night, particularly on Saturday night due to constant traffic and road noise and loud music from some vehicles. Basically if you’re seeking peace and quiet, this may not be the place.
Great experience as always. A little issue, Grayson took care of it with grace and professionalism. Thank you so much.
The location is excellent . The boutique hotel is perfect!
My wife and I came into town for a concert and to celebrate our anniversary. We picked The Ivey’s for its central location which was perfect - only a 2 block walk to the Spectrum Center made the evening very easy. The room itself was great - luxurious, comfortable, clean, and spacious. It was the perfect setting for our weekend. I’d give the bathroom and shower high marks as well for space and being refreshing. All of the employees were very friendly and interested in making our stay enjoyable. If I had one complaint, it was the location of the room inside the hotel (1st floor for a junior suite) and the fact that it was directly across from a nightclub - on a Friday and Saturday evening this was not ideal. The nightclub music (bass specifically) reverberated in the room until around 1 am each night. The hotel did provide earplugs and we had our own white noise machine so it wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever experienced, but it certainly detracted from the atmosphere. Perhaps it was the residences that were also in the building but I felt that a junior suite (also booked through AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts) should have been higher up for the price and perhaps that would have dampened some of the noise.
Amazing staff and property.
I had to get up and out early this morning and was pleased to have such a pleasant experience. Kyle from Valet had my car ready ahead of time and greated us so kindly, especially for 6:30 in the morning. I know where we will be staying next time we are in Charlotte!
The Ivey's has become my favorite hotel. The location is smack dab in the middle of Uptown Charlotte. The entire staff is unbelievably kind, from the valet to the check in staff, housekeeping and lounge staff. The property is stunningly beautiful, with French themed details that make me want to come back again and again. The rooms are comfortable and quiet despite being in the middle of the action. Every thoughtful detail is included, I always love my lush robe and slippers. No other hotel, including Ritz or Ballantyne resort can compete. I love the boutique feel and individual attention I get here. I feel so happy when I visit and I am a forever return customer.
Nancy may does a very great job from greeting the customers, to holding the door and she always greets you with the biggest, warmest smile!
The hotel itself is super nice and historic feeling; fantastic for it being right in the center of the city. The service checking in was fantastic. The room was amazing and clean; just what we needed. The bad; well its next to a club and the windows are not sound proof so you hear all the music and cheering through the night. We did put out a tag to get breakfast delivered to the room and for some reason we never got it. Check out was also not even apologetic for that mishap so not sure if Id return to this place.
We had a family dinner at Sophia’s Lounge on a Friday night, and once again, it exceeded every expectation. This has always been one of our favorite spots in Charlotte, and somehow it just keeps getting better every time we visit.
The staff is truly exceptional. Jasmine, Chi Chi, David, and the kind gentleman who greeted us at the front made us feel so welcome and took wonderful care of our family throughout the evening. Their hospitality made the experience even more special.
Whether you’re looking for small plates, a full dinner, or just a great place to enjoy a drink, I highly recommend Sophia’s Lounge. The atmosphere is beautiful, the service has always been excellent in our experience, and the entire team never disappoints. Thank you for another wonderful evening, we’ll definitely be back!
I loved the architectural and design details. It gave the hotel a very unique, vintage feel that set it apart from any property I have ever visited.
Beautiful and clean!
