Excellent place in almost every respect, but they don’t have parking that’s not valet, which can be offputting to some folks.

Room size was spacious
The pool area was packed with kids who were not well supervised.
The hotel is about a 16 minute walk from downtown or a quick 5-minute Uber ride for around $8, making it very convenient to get around.
The rooms are comfortable, with a cozy bed and a quiet atmosphere. I also appreciated the small touches, such as the pleasantly scented toiletries.
The heated pool is a highlight, and the warm towels are a thoughtful addition. However, I was disappointed by the fire pits, which cost $25 per hour to use. This was frustrating since they were a key reason I chose the hotel, and I wasn’t expecting an additional fee on top of an already expensive stay. Valet parking is also required and costs $20.
One thing to be aware of is the presence of homeless individuals throughout the city, from downtown to the hotel area, so it’s best to stay mindful when walking.
It would also be a nice improvement if the hotel offered complimentary coffee in the lobby until checkout.

Driving from SFO to Carmel after a long flight. Wanted to spend a night so we could take out time exploring the PCH. This Hyatt was a good spot although i would not necessarily choose Santa Cruz to spend a night. It is clean and safe. Staff was very attentive and breakfast is included.
Location was pefect. About 1/2 mile walk to Boardwalk. Room was clean (and I mean clean). Loved the vanity in the bathroom, the shelf in the back was great. No noise at all and beds were comfortable. The front desk staff, espcially Gabby, was great. So friendly and helpful. Valet parking was nice too. Recommend staying here if in the area.
Great hotel - super location. Staff friendly & the kids really enjoyed the pool. Very clean and staff were friendly. Rooms great size with lots of space - we had a family room to sleep 5 and this was perfect for us

That they had minimal selection for the breakfast items.
Horrible check in process, myself and multiple guests having to wait because rooms were not ready on time
We’ve stayed here before and are very pleased with the rooms, property, and closeness to the Boardwalk. It’s one of the few properties in the area that accommodate 5 people.
