Room was very comfortable
We booked through booking.com. We were told we were getting a ground floor room and go a 1st floor room. We had a dog and was charged an extra $50 for the room although it said pets allowed on Booking.com. Nothing was stated about charging extra and the room was already $180 per night. There was no where for the dog to go to the toilet except on the street which is not very hygenic and has no grass patch for them. Had to park our car up the street 250m as the car park was additional $40 a night. These little things all add up and were not stated in booking.com. Disappointed with all the additional charges not stated. Also there is a lot of building construction going on and at 7am you are woken by the construction noise.
Location was good
The building works were a pain
Location
Noise- construction started 6.30am Sat
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. I love the location and the room
The pillows used in the rooms are horrible. Also there is no on sight laundry room. With no laundry facilities close to the hotel this is extremely inconvenient.
Please upgrade them for a better guest experience.
Good price, clean and close to things
Very noisy, music from the neighbouring venue could be heard until 2 am. I get that it’s close to venues which are open late, but it’s like there was no sound dampening in the construction at all. Every noise outside the room could be heard from the neighbouring guests coming and going to the construction work across the road (constant jack hammering noise) which started at 6:50 am. The pillows were also very uncomfortable. So the overall experience was let down by the comfort when attempting to sleep.
disappointed that I wasn’t advised about the major construction next door before booking. I chose this hotel to get a good night’s rest before a full day of meetings, but the constant heavy machinery and vibrations made that impossible. The earplugs provided were a thoughtful gesture, but they couldn’t block out the noise or shaking. Had I known about the construction, I would have booked elsewhere. Transparency before guests book would be appreciated.
Major construction over the road and next door from 6.30am till 6pm. Large machines jack hammering rock the whole time
The location is nice. However, the room is very small. I'm pretty sure the staff gave me the wrong room. The room I booked was the Superior City View Queen Room; but the one I ended up in was probably just a standard queen, with no view whatsoever. The worst part is that there were constructions happening either inside the building or near the hotel at 6am, which woke me up. I had to wear earplugs in order to go back to sleep. When inquiring the staff if it might be possible to do late checkout, since we were there for business and would appreciated some flexibility. We were told that a 2pm checkout would entail an extra $150... No thanks, might as well switch hotels.
