Good location, but many small problems
Pros:

We chose this hotel for its location. It is in a very convenient place — all the main sights are down the hill, just a short walk away. But there is one important thing you should know before booking.

The location is the best part. The historic center is close. Breakfast was okay, there was enough choice — nobody will leave hungry. The food was fine.

Cons:

First, a warning: the hotel is on a very steep hill. If you have health problems, are older, or have heavy luggage, the climb can be really hard. We did not mind walking much, but every time we came back from the city, the uphill walk was tiring.

Now about the hotel itself. The cleaning was the biggest problem. It felt like housekeeping just did things for show, not for real. One day our room was not cleaned at all, even though we hung the sign asking for service. When we looked under the bed (we dropped something and had to get it), we found dirt and old receipts from 2022. That means nobody cleaned under the bed for four years. That is not just a small mistake — it shows real carelessness.

There were also other issues: the trash cans were not emptied, and the cups for tea and sugar were dirty, left from previous guests. The towels had stains and holes. All this together made the room feel unhygienic and unpleasant.

Another big problem was the smell from cooking. The hotel layout is such that during breakfast, all the kitchen smells go up through the floors and into the rooms. Our clothes absorbed the smell, and later our things smelled like fried food — not nice at all.

Conclusion:
Even with all these problems, the location is really good and saved the overall impression for us. If you are young, fit, and can ignore the cleaning issues, the hotel can be an okay base for exploring the city. But for older people or anyone who cares about cleanliness and comfort, I would suggest looking for another place

Værelset var ikke rengjort, især sengeborde og gulv var ikke rent. Morgenmaden var ikke særlig god - vi valgte at spise morgenmad ude i byen
