Old hotel in need of updating, minimal comforts, but close to beach and shopping
Pros:

Hotel is centrally located in Avalon, close to shopping, dining and the beach. It does include small kitchenette, with fridge and microwave.

Cons:

Hotel is old and run down. Surprised that it has not been better maintained nor updated in years. Linens, bed, pillows disappointing. No chair to sit in. Building is dark, not very secure with lots of stairs to climb.

The location was what I wanted.

Cons:

Dirty, expensive, not taken care of, hot because the AC was not enough for the place, no forks in the kitchen, no coffeemaker, very little in the way of anything in the kitchen. Kitchen had 4 spoons, one knife, 3 plates, 2 mugs and 1 plastic cup. That was it! No forks, bowls, cooking pot, coffee or spices or anything.

Clean, Quiet. Everything I wanted.
Pros:

What I have always found the best about this hotel is the quietness. They were fully booked all weekend and I never heard another guest. Room was clean. What else could you want?

Cons:

Shower could have been hotter. AC could have been colder. But that is really nit-picking.

Good Value
Pros:

We enjoyed our stay at the Catalina Hermosa hotel. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. Clean and quiet room. Easy walking distance to everything you need.

Overpriced for the quality of stay.
Pros:

Location was good. AC was cold. Bed was comfortable. Water pressure in shower was good.

Cons:

Room, floor and bathroom was not the cleanest. No store on site. Carpet in the hallways is in desperate need of replacement. Hotel needs some remodel. Price per night should be less due to condition of Hotel and room cleanliness.

Comfortable and relaxing!
Pros:

Location was great! The room was pretty cozy and had kitchen supplies.

Cons:

Nothing! Just wish there was a dresser or some type of place to store clothes :)

Cons:

I was on a work trip so it wasn't for vacation and the lady at front desk wasn't very helpful, I informed them wifi password provided wasn't working so she said she will let maintenence know, my phone didn't have great reception so I was pretty bummed she never updated me on hoe to fix for my three night stay, place was dirty I found hair everywhere that was a dark brown color and I'm blonde. It was extremely disappointing that the hot water didn't stay on for more than a few seconds and I tried to be nice and politely ask the front desk about it and I never got a solution on that either. Was as if me just asking for simple accommodations was too much to ask

Misleading room photos and disappointing accommodations resulted in an unsatisfactory stay.
Cons:

The room we received was completely different from the room shown in the listing and at the time of booking. The photos were misleading and did not accurately represent the actual accommodation. The room conditions were disappointing and uncomfortable, which caused us to leave the hotel early. We have photos and screenshots showing the difference between the advertised room and the room we were given.
