The Lalit is exceptionally well located for tube and train travel and the old school building is lovely.
Our Senior Classroom was spacious, air conditioned and comfortable in the summer heat. Staff were helpful and polite.
The bar prices, I’ll happily pay for a well made cocktail but £10 for a Magners Cider, even for London seems excessive.
We had a fantastic stay in an excellent location, just a short walk from Tower Bridge, The Shard, Borough Market and many other attractions.
We stayed in a Senior Classroom, which was stylish, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was a lovely touch to have a coffee machine and a complimentary minibar included. Although the window was quite small, it didn’t bother us at all, and the excellent glazing kept the noise of London outside, making the room peaceful. The air conditioning was also very welcome during the summer heat, making for a comfortable night’s sleep.
The only small improvement I would suggest is providing fresh milk for tea and coffee. As the room already has a fridge, it would be a much nicer touch than the small UHT cartons, which don’t quite match the otherwise five-star experience.
Everything was just right

Uncollected glassware and some rubbish in corridor
The building was stunning and great location
We went for breakfast and despite being relatively empty we had a table full of dirty plates the whole time. We were told to help ourselves to juice then charged £6 a glass. Both had to lie down after eating an omelette and eggs Benedict. Felt poorly all day. Was told I would get an email regarding this but never came
Attractive building in central location. Beautiful interior that gives the feeling of luxury.
The electronic key fob did not work for our rooms. Bar drinks were expensive.
We had let the hotel know we were staying for our wedding anniversary and upon arriving in our room there was a personalised card and a beautifully indulgent chocolate cake waiting for us. It really made our stay ☺️.
We dropped our luggage off 3 hours before check in and the lady on reception offered us a water, took our luggage and told us it would be ready in our room upon our return. This friendliness and helpfulness set precedence for the customer service we received during our whole stay.
Excellent stay overall, and if we could get the same rate again in the future we would rebook in a heartbeat!
Its very good location
