Quaint property - no luxury but did the job! Basic and clean. Staff pleasant and ready to help. Biggest asset close to shopping mall and centre 5 mins walk and 10 minutes to station

Good value for money, great location.
Pros:

The fabric of the hotel is rather tired. It was clean throughout, towels were fluffy and plentiful, toilet paper was good quality, staff friendly and helpful.

It is a typical British hotel. We were assigned a double room on an upper floor with a small window, as well as a triple room. The weather was very hot, and the heat in the double room was unbearable. The hotel staff moved us to a different triple room, which was fine. Despite the heatwave, there weren't enough fans for all the rooms, so we had only one single fan for the two rooms. A full English breakfast was included in the price.

I would like to praise the hotel staff, who were extremely courteous and did their utmost to help—both at the reception and in the dining room.

The showers are outdated and the rooms feel old.
Too many stairs to get to the rooms on the upper level.

Altes Hotel und Zimmer, nicht gut Instant gehalten.

Von den Türrahmen blättert die Farbe ab, Duschhalterung und Heizung nicht richtig gereinigt….
Es war sehr heiss. Wir haben auf Anfrage einen Ventilator erhalten aber der war unglaublich staubig.

Dated but clean & functional room, with TV, hairdryer (unfortunately didn't work), kettle (also didn't work) and towels.

Cons:

While the room may have been just about adequate, the parking situation was very disappointing. The listing promised free on-site parking, but the car park was full upon arrival and there was no space on surrounding streets (which are all 'permit holder only' between restricted hours). This resulted in me driving round for 20 minutes searching for parking, and ending up and having to park a distance away. When speaking to a member of staff about this upon arrival, they were rather dismissive, simply suggesting I should have blocked another car in - which would require me to be disturbed in the morning to move my car. Future guests should be aware that on-site parking is not guaranteed.
