The Sun House

Après l’avion, nous sommes allés directement à Galle et nous ne pouvions pas rêver mieux comme hôtel.

The Sun House is an exquisitely preserved house from 1860, equipped with all the modern conveniences we could wish, while maintaining the original charm and structural details. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The food was excellent.

The interiors, the service - it was unique

Possibly the most beautiful, interesting and elegant property I’ve ever stayed. Our room was breathtaking and the entire hotel is stunning. Make sure to have a drink in their colonial intimate bar and eat at their incredible restaurant. The staff were so friendly and attentive while giving us space to enjoy and soak in our surroundings. I can’t wait to stay again. It’s a short walk/drive to Galle Forte and has beautiful views and a lovely breeze. The outdoor bathtub was amazing!

A secluded, beautiful lush colonial house within 5-10 minutes walk of Galle fort and a quiet haven away from the bustle of the town. The house is bright airy beautifully decorated and made even more special by the very attentive and warm staff. The surrounding monkeys make good entertainment. The rooms are large elegant and have a sophisticated colonial feel with all modern conveniences except for a mini bar which is really not needed. Tea, coffee and water are available in the room at no extra cost. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and the air con is most effective. The breakfast is very generous and served to the table, no buffet with a choice or either Sri Lankan or western style breakfast. The herbal drink served at breakfast has real kick and gives you a boost for the day. Dinner was delicious and despite a small problem with one dish this was quickly remedied by the chef who personally came to the table to ensure everything was to our liking showing a professional and caring attitude. The gardens and pool are gorgeous well maintained and picture perfect.

The property was exceptional! The house was an original with wonderful furnishings. It felt like a home away from home! Pool was on the small side, but thankfully only two other guests were using it. Rooms were so nice.

Location was ideal. A short walk or tuk tuk to Galle Fort. Location was ideal as it felt away from the more touristy areas. Set higher up the hill in a very pretty residential area. Quiet and full of wildlife also. The house and its surrounds are one of the prettiest we have ever stayed in. Beautifully appointed and styled without being generic. Extremely comfortable, great staff and a great restaurant also

Everything about this property is superb. We particularly liked reading a book in the gardens or swimming in the pool. It’s a beautiful hotel and the staff are wonderful

The Sun House is truly one of a kind. It is the most gorgeous heritage building with lots of wildlife around (birds, monkeys, lizards)!

The staff were so attentive and kind and the food is incredible. You will not want to leave the hotel!

The property was beautifully decorated to a high standard in colonial style, it felt like a piece of history! All of the staff were so attentive and sweet and helped to make our stay special. Slightly outside of the hustle and bustle of Galle but easily accessible by tuk tuk or a short walk, it’s location allowed for a peaceful environment and a good nights sleep 😊

Der Charme des Hotels war umwerfend. Man fühlt isch in die Kolonialzeit zurückversetzt. Sehr hübsche und saubere Zimmer. Mit Tuktuk in wenigen Minuten im Galle Fort.
