To many stairs, shower not running away quick enough which overflowed. Carpets very dirty, poorly decorated. No cups in room for hot drinks.
10 minute walk from the station, comfy bed, very reasonable price. Excellent for a 1 night stop prior to an early flight, 10 minute train to Stansted
Hot on a hot day, bedroom facing busy street and opposite restaurant with a balcony where lots of diners were talking till late, decor dated.
Nothing. I would have had a very late check in so I tried to call to make sure this would be possible, no answer, sent messages through the app, no response. I called over 40 times over a week and no answers I had to make other plans. Booking.com are useless too not helping even though they themselves could not get hold of the property manager. Going through my bank to recover the funds as booking.vom won’t help. Won’t be using this app again.

Did not have breakfast
The room wasn't particularly clean. There was an obvious film of dust all over the coloured wall. The room and building is getting very tired and in need of repairs.
Absolutely great; there wasn't nobody at reception but I was aware of this when I booked. All I had to do was to give a phone call at the specified number and in no time, very quickly/instantly a friendly gentleman appeared, gave me the key and wifi passwords. Very good, tidy room, in a select place, beautiful old building.
When I will have early flights again from Stansted, I will return.
I definitely recommend the George Hotel.

Nothing, we didn’t even stay. We needed somewhere to stay for the night and we thought for one night we would be ok. I am a female travelling with my two young daughters.
The rude woman that “greeted” us at reception - greeted isn’t correct as she grunted. She had stained clothing, socks full of holes showing cracked and peeling skin flaking all over the shabby old carpet. The lady was so rude over an error with the booking, gave no solution, shrugged her shoulders and gave no care in the world that we had arrived from Australia with nowhere else to stay. She was rude to my daughter and shoved a phone in her face to show her the confirmation booking and made my younger daughter cry as she was so scared. I’ve honestly never felt so unsafe at a hotel, and we didn’t even make it past reception. I asked if we could get a refund and she said we would have to do through booking.com.
She is not replying to my or booking.com emails, calls or texts and since having read other reviews it seems this is a pattern in her behaviour.
I do feel booking.com have a duty of care to their customers to only advertise safe accommodation- and this was definitely not. It was a really bad first impression of the town, which otherwise feels lovely. I will be following up with booking.com and authorities in relation to the treatment we received.

Čistoća zajedničkih prostorija (tepisi) kao ni tepih u sobi. Vidi se da se dugo nije ulagalo a bilo bi super investirati i obnoviti jer je šteta za takvu zgradu.
