The throw on the double bed was dirty
Easy to find, clean room
It was very lively on Saturday night. We were directly above the bar. We agreed to stay up for a drink and were promised the music would be off by midnight. This was what happened. There were people directly outside our window after closing who were hanging around for a while. They weren’t being rude, just a bit merry and noisy.
The Birchtree Hotel was lovely inside and all the staff were very pleasant and friendly. The service was excellent, we had breakfast and evening meal twice and the food was delicious, definitely try the Steak and frites, and the steak open sandwich, my daughter said her breakfast omelette was divine. The hotel was clean and our room was very nice. We stayed in the Murray Grierson twin room, light airy room. Great WiFi connection
The shower area not partitioned from the sleeping area which we found odd.

Nice hotel in Dalbeittie.. Confortable beds and delicious breakfast included! The staff is also amazing.
It was a good price. Breakfast was included which was ok. It was ideal for our needs which was visiting someone in the area so we weren’t in the room very much.
The room had the shower in the bedroom so no privacy. Also the floor in the room was very uneven which was to be expected in an old building but my older friend struggled with it. Because the beds had been separated into twins we had plug sockets right next to our heads which was weird.
Convenient location in the heart of the town. Ample parking nearby in free car park or on side roads. Excellent breakfast and evening meals in the restaurant or downstairs in the cosy bar.

Generally very good, couple bits listed below of main problem was the light as below comments
Thing not liked was in the sweetheart suite, a street light was right outside, so better blinds/fitted ones needed for blackout. Shower definitely acceptable but would of liked, slightly hotter and more powerful.

Breakfast and dinner were fabulous room was spacious and clean. Staff were amazingly friendly.

The staff and service were spectacular. Very friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The young waiters were chatty, proud and although it was busy, everything ran smoothly enough. The food was wonderful, both dinners and breakfasts were faultless and it’s worth noting that the chef in the morning also has to serve people so we were impressed that both of them managed to do this so well.
We managed to catch the last of the civic parade and so the towns atmosphere was high.
