A lovely old pub located on the main road through town
It would have been quieter had it been a block farther back, but noise was never a problem for us
Only stayed one night left before breakfast so limited as checked in after 10 pm
Breakfast being from 8 am. To be fair I knew this was the case when I booked and no their fault
Centre of village
Alongside a main road, with road works outside bedroom window. Property was tired and could do with TLC, particularly as we were supposed to be staying in a deluxe room. Was overpriced for what it was.
The staff were all very friendly
It was a comedy of errors: we had a 12.30 check-in but the back office forgot to tell the front office; while we waited we ordered and paid for soup of the day except there was none left; the TV remote did not work; next day they bought a remote except the TV only worked for 20 minutes before it stopped: we were both going to have Fish & Chips except there was only one piece.
Good sized room with everything we needed. Lovely pub and good location
Nothing
It’s a real character property with a good bar and food.
It rained too much! ;-)
Nice location
Good breakfast
Friendly staff
The room was quite gloomy and could do with an update. The music in the pub downstairs was very loud, as was the passing traffic.
The staff were the best, couldn't do enough for me to accommodate me my son and our bikes...
Nothing totally cycle friendly.....
Very very impressive very happy 5 star ⭐️

Good location to visit the beautiful area. Breakfast was very good. Cozy pub with great food and drinks.
Really loud metal music coming from the kitchen right underneath our room. We asked to turn it down, which they did for half an hour. Then they put the volume up again... Due to this we fled the room between 16 and 20.30 (after this it was quiet). The music really can't be that loud if you have guests in the room above the kitchen (room 1).
Great stay. Was travelling for a day walking in the peaks so it was the perfect base camp. Staff were very friendly, room was comfortable and well-appointed. Food was terrific - cannot recommend it highly enough. Unfortunately I had to leave early so couldn’t experience breakfast.
It’s a matter of taste but the cask ale selection was disappointing. Everyone else was drinking them though so it may just be me :)
Breakfast
Small room
Lovely building and a big room with a four poster bed. Had a berry nice lunch.
Also loved the attached tea room where we had breakfast which was delicious 😋
All good
