Lovely interior, nice rooms, friendly attentive staff.
Nothing
Suited our taste. Good atmosphere and great staff. Close to everything, by car.
It was lovely
The berms in the room and the walk up stairs to the room but room was lovely and bed comfortable
Lovely hotel. Room was beautiful and quirky bear theme. Nice touch to have bubbles in the fridge for our anniversary. Food was good but very slow service due to staff shortage. Wonderful breakfast. The majority of staff were very warm and friendly. The hotel is in an excellent location to explore local beaches and the New Forest.
Too long for food to come out but didn’t impact our overall enjoyment of our stay
Very good breakfast. Location was easy to get to from our home address.
Didn't like the bath in the room and found the windows difficult to open.
very nice rooms, nice location, nice terrace! everyone friendly!
Absolutely beautiful hotel
Having to leave to come home
Great breakfast, staff were helpful and attentive. Location is great and easy parking, pub is peaceful and lovely for a getaway close to lots of amenities
Staff worked really hard to cool the room down, the Dyson fan was great but the aircon wasn’t working very well. I think the bathroom could do with a better fan, but it was exceptionally hot this weekend.
Really happy with our short stay at The Bear of Burton. We chose to stay because of the connection with the poet Robert Southey so we were pleased to see him acknowledged in paintings, room names and quotations on the wall. The food, drink and ambience were very good. As vegetarians, we were particularly pleased with the range of breakfast choices. Glad we went for the classic double room as it felt larger and more airy and spacious. We slept well every night as the bed was very comfortable and the room quiet. The staff were terrific; professional, friendly and helpful. A big car park so easy to park. Thank you!
Pleased with everything but if pushed, just that at dinner time, on a couple of occasions, one of the two vegetarian dinner options was not available. However, the food we did have was very good.
Spacious, clean room with some quirky features. Excellent food and friendly staff.
Excellent meals- - breakfast and dinner.
We had to change room after one night due to being kept awake by the sound of running water (air conditioning unit?). Well
Everything! Great rooms, service, breakfast
Nothing
Friendly team of staff, very comfortable room. Loved all the bear details. Food very nice.
Food and drink slightly on the more expensive side. Whilst the room was on the whole clean some areas could have been cleaner. Dust on curtains and towel rail very dusty but did not effect our stay and we would return.
The attention to detail was excellent - I left very early in the morning and they provided a superb breakfast in the room fridge

Staff on arrival
The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was very good as we needed to be either side of The Bear for family. The peacefulness of the area. Car parking was easy and accessible.
Staying for 9 nights, having to carry suitcases up and down a narrow staircase. If you didn’t get down for breakfast in the first hour, fruit, pastries etc were not replenished. Dogs being fed at the tables, being stroked by the staff who didn’t wash their hands afterwards and in one case a dog being allowed to put his paws up on the bar!! Surprisingly, I am a dog lover.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Bear of Burton. Great staff, friendly and attentive. Excellent food and a very good selection at breakfast. We usually stay in Bournemouth itself but the area is much nicer and because of the position we found it much easier to travel to new parts of the area.
Nothing springs to mind.
