Beautiful old building in a lovely central location.
Nothing
Very friendly staff, lots of character
Breakfast was 5 star. Lovely friendly and helpful staff.
Tired room interior.
Breakfast was excellent, great selection, freshly cooked, quick efficient polite service.
Dinner food very good although the menu was a little dated.
Spacious room.
Ample free parking at the back of the hotel.
Free entrance to a gig in the hotel which was terrific.
Though the hotel seemed pretty busy it was quiet for sleeping.
Decor a bit dated and shabby.
After the hottest summer on record still got 10tog duvets.
Town clock chiming throughout the night, problem in hot weather when you have the windows open
Location in the town. Bed linen was clean and crisp. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Car park was good.
This is a very tired hotel. The room was very tired, old and had worn in dirt on the armchair, frayed carpet with nails coming through by the bathroom door, low ceiling over shower made standing under the shower difficult without bumping your head, toilet cistern took an age to refill.
The food was excellent, both breakfast and evening meal. Staff were cheerful and very helpful.
Not too bad. Wow, the chimes of the Town clock were pretty loud with the windows open. Lovely clock tower but needs turning off during the night if possible.
In the town centre and close to the relatives we were visiting.
Too close to the Bell Tower as the clock struck every quarter during the whole of the night. No sleep.
The rooms were clean spacious and comfortable. The hotel had an old fashioned atmosphere like stepping back into an older world of hotel accommodation. The facilities were well maintained, it was lovely to have a spacious sitting room and bar.
The staff were overwhelmed on Sunday night and had little appreciation of the requirement for food and drink to be served together. I managed to get a small glass of wine for my main meal but the glass I ordered arrived at the table only after we were eating our cheese board. An hour to get a glass of wine to the table is wholly unacceptable. My friend’s beer did not arrive at all and he was too embarrassed to insist on this. This was a very poor aspect of service but overall the experience of the hotel was very positive.
Your receptionist was fantastic, helped at breakfast too and seemed very efficient unlike the staff serving dinner. I would comment the food at dinner and breakfast was excellent so it’s a shame you let yourselves down by poor staff serving at dinner. It is grating when they say they are too busy. No business should say that as it translates to I don’t care.
Great location, nice homely interior, very friendly staff
Beautiful old Welsh pub. Warm and welcoming. Delicious breakfast with lots of options to choose from. Easily the best location in Mach and great value.

Quirky welcoming clean. Wonderful staff. No single use plastics. Excellent breakfast.
