Konak Saray Hotel

I would give this hotel 0 out of 10 if I could.

The photos on http://Booking.com are extremely misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the hotel. The pictures show a clean, modern, and well-maintained property, but the reality is completely different. It honestly feels like false advertising.

The moment we walked into the building, we were greeted by a strong smell of cigarette smoke throughout the corridors. The room smelled even worse, making it very uncomfortable to stay there. It was obvious that people smoke in the rooms, despite what guests might expect.

The room and the bathroom were dirty. The shower was filthy, many things were broken or damaged, and the furniture and facilities looked old, worn out, and poorly maintained. The entire place felt neglected and far below any acceptable standard of cleanliness.

What made the experience even worse was the way we were treated when we started documenting the condition of the room. We were taking photos and videos to record the state of the property, and a man who appeared to be the owner or manager became extremely aggressive. He started shouting at us, raising his voice, and speaking to us in a very rude and inappropriate manner simply because we were documenting the condition of the room. This behavior was completely unacceptable and made an already terrible experience even worse.

We were in the hotel for approximately 20 minutes. After seeing the actual condition of the property, we decided that we could not stay there for even one night. We fully understood that the reservation was non-refundable and that we would lose our money, but we chose to leave anyway because the conditions were completely unacceptable. In other words, we lost the money we had paid after being there for only about 20 minutes rather than risk spending the night in that room.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.

Unfortunately, the hotel itself was in very poor condition. The room looked extremely old, and it seemed that no renovation had been done for many years. There was a very strong smell of cigarettes, smoke, and other unpleasant odors in the room. The mirror was dirty and broken, and overall everything looked very neglected and unclean.

It was honestly difficult to stay in the room because of the condition and cleanliness. During all our travels, we have rarely seen a room in such a state. While the price was low, in our opinion it was still too high for the quality and conditions provided. We appreciate the friendly staff, but we would not recommend this hotel to travelers who are used to European standards of comfort and cleanliness.

The hotel has seen better days, this is reflected in the room cost.
