Nice barr the disappointment of the restaurant meal having to be sent back

We was served a basic meal of Fish & Chips which was grossly overcooked and inedible which should never have left their kitchen

Trip to Scotland

We wouldn't stay here again as it wasn't worth the money, place needs care and attention.
Pros:

The location was amazing and you could see that at one time the old part of the building had been lovely when it was cared for. The Village Inn has the potential to be amazing with some investment and foresight. At present it seems as though it's being deliberately run down. Staff do too much multi-tasking which is not good for them or the establishment.

Cons:

There was a terrible smell of damp in the more 'modern' part of the building that housed some bedrooms and it seemed to cling to your clothes. The noise in the bedrooms from other rooms made you feel like you were sharing with strangers! The food was poor quality and the cooked breakfasts were swimming in grease so inedible. Bar service was poor as you often had to go in search of a staff member to serve you which meant it wasn't well used at all by guests and therefore had no atmosphere. This was a pity as there was an excellent selection of whiskies.

Pros:

Das Aufdrehen des Warmwassers in beiden Zimmern war perfekt: Es gab direkt Warm-, und wenn man wollte, sofort Heißwasser.

Cons:

Im Zimmer Nr. 2 schien die Klospülung leider defekt zu sein.
