Great hotel, lovely view. Great room.
The walk back, it's up a hill.
Sea views
Dirty toe nail clipping on the carpet had to keep my shoes on
Unkept
Horrible bed more like a small double
Many people reviewing complain about the dated decor but I think this is charming and is characterful - typically British coastal B&B feel.
It’s also in a stunning location, with incredible views.
Nothing.
A small store on site with some essentials would be nice though as I managed to get a parking space and didn’t want to have to drive to the shops .
Excellent food and very friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely hotel

Breakfast was absolutely amazing and the staff go out of there way to help.
Hotel is in a good position location wise. Food was good and quite plentiful.
Standard rooms were very poor. First room we were given was in the converted basement area and was like a rabbit warren! Really tiny room with small window opening directly onto the garden, so no security. Second room we had was marginally better but with stairs from the corridor to the room, and stairs the other side of the room to the bathroom. Furniture in both rooms were old and dilapidated, not nice.

Location
Location was lovely , with lovely views but it is definately a place for the over 60s to stay, we were probably the youngest there at 40 . The lobby and the gallery restaurant have been updated , but thats it really.
The room was outdated , carpet torn at the edges , makeup on the ceiling , parking is stupid , you have to park down the road and walk to the hotel as theres only so many spaces ,
Location and facilities
Hotel occupies a wonderful position down a no through road with stunning sea views. Friendly staff, very comfortable beds (best pillows) and a very good breakfast. We enjoyed the lovely outside terrace with a cream tea - freshly made scones (as they should be) plenty of cream. We only stayed one night and didn't dine in so can't comment on food.
As many comments state, the hotel is of an era and our room (137) was looking a bit tired in places, especially the bathroom. Also there was some fan/generator running outside but it wasn't too intrusive. I felt that there could be a little more attention to some detailed cleaning - cobwebs in old style radiator by door, thorough cleaning of doors, wall adjacent to wash basin in bathroom and light pull cord for example.
Good atmosphere and fantastic breakfast
We paid extra for our dog. The room looked old and tired. Bathroom floor looked like a previous coverìng had been removed.
If they charge more for a dog friendly room I would hope the standard to be the same as the other rooms.
The spa was really good the breakfast was lovely
The position of the hotel was up a very steep hill not enough parking
