Lovely weekend at the Palace hotel.
Pros:

Lovely old hotel with a very nice ambience/ vibe.
Ample free car parking on site. Staff very helpful and polite. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection to suit all tastes. Very nice indoor swimming pool. We didn't use any of the other spa facilities. Our 4th time staying here, enough said.

Cons:

Having to pay extra £10 to use the swimming pool. Lovely characterful hotel, but starting to show signs of needing some investment and a little TLC in some areas.

A beautiful hotel and great location if you fancy a trip to the beach
Pros:

I loved the period character of the property and really enjoyed learning about its history. I couldn’t help wondering how amazing it must have been to stay here during the heyday of the British Riviera.

The location is also ideal, particularly if you’re planning to spend time at the beach or visit the pier. As I was travelling solo, I stayed in a single room, which was perfect for my two-night stay. It had everything I needed with a good sized en-suite.
And the staff were simply amazing, from reception through to the breakfast team. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, which made the stay feel even more special.

Cons:

The cooked English breakfast looked very good if that’s how you like to start your day, and I did enjoy the poached egg. However, I was less impressed with the continental breakfast buffet. I would have appreciated a little more choice, particularly when it came to fresh fruit and bread options beyond the usual sliced loaves. I wouldn’t have added the breakfast option to my booking had I known this.

That said, the breakfast staff were exceptionally attentive which I really appreciated. Their professionalism, attentiveness and willingness to make things right for every guest made a very positive impression.

One thing that did affect my stay was the cleanliness of the bathroom. One of the bathroom walls was noticeably dusty, which was particularly uncomfortable for me as someone who is allergic to dust. I found myself sneezing in the bathroom and even in bed, as the bathroom was directly opposite the bed, despite keeping the door closed.

I mentioned this to the housekeeping staff, who were very nice and understanding about it. Unfortunately, it seemed to have been overlooked when my room was cleaned, so I ended up wiping the wall myself as best I could without a cloth.

I appreciate that it’s easy for small details to be missed when working through a routine, but I do think particular attention should be paid when a guest has specifically flagged a cleanliness issue. In this case, it would have made a real difference to my comfort during the stay.

Short Break Holiday
Pros:

We stayed at the Palace for one night and were very impressed with the Staff and the room where we stayed
I would like to say that the Bar Manager and Restaurant Manager were very polite and helpful.
We really enjoyed the breakfast which was very enjoyable and well cooked.
The room were delightful and comfortable.
I will stay there again in the future, and recommend this Hotel to anyone thinking of staying in this area.

Cons:

I think the Tea and coffee could be improved, by serving pots of Tea and coffee and not the machines used for the Tea and Coffee because it wasn't hot enough.
