wifi did not work. not enough bar staff dealing with a wedding and other guests and prices at the bar were seriously high for average drinks.
The beds were excellent, and the cooked breakfast was absolutely the best quality I've had in a hotel.

Ik miste een beetje een binnentuin of een knusse zit. Er is wel een brasserie en bar maar het oogt wat groot en voelde kil aan. Ik miste de warmte van het personeel.

Booking.com showed "private parking". The correct description is "private parking; limited spaces; book in advance; extra cost". I did not see the constraints until after booking. Fortunately, the kind receptionist went out of her way to obtain a parking space for us.
I know Tunbridge Wells well. I have now moved to Crowborough and stayed while the scaffolding going up on our roof. The layout of the hotel is still awkward but I knew that when invited to the opening party.
The rooms are spacious, cool and the bathrooms have an excellent fit out.
I was waiting for a taxi to return home and an American couple (international travellers) asked several wuestions of Reception who had no idea. They also asked about laundry and dry cleaning, again no idea. I have been a director of boutique hotels and found this shocking. I ended up helping them personally.

Great location, in the heart of the historic part of town
After the air conditioning broke down in my room, I was moved to a smaller room, in the attic (with 47 narrow steps to reach the room), without a view, no chair and a poorly designed bathroom.
