Nice bar and restaurant areas
Loved the comfortable bed and pillows. Great view. Staff were friendly. Buffet breakfast was delicious. Shower head was awesome. Black out blinds were great too.
Shower box was small. Shower pressure was low. Couldn't get the air con to work properly. Noisy cleaning staff in the morning.
I stayed for 4 nights for a conference at the Te Pae Convention Center (located right next door to the hotel). It turned out to be an outstanding hotel experience in the heart of Christchurch, accessible (walking distance) to wonderful restaurants and attractions and tram stop. Some great restaurants such as the Odeon and Edizi - where we had some wonderful dining experiences with friends. Uber pick up point at door step.
The rooms looked recently renovated (I stayed on the 10th floor, in a King room). The room was clean and crisp and had an excellent bed / pillow menu. The bathroom was good with a nice rain shower. Accessible power sockets, and a very practical small desk for working on a lap top (intuitive power points). Very good housekeeping service. Room service is available 24/7 (I ordered in on my first evening) and this is always a positive.
Staff at reception (Amy, Ashika) went over and beyond to make my stay comfortable, especially with suggestions for dining options and going over and beyond in adjusting my room temperature which was too cold for my liking on the first night. I travel very frequently for work, and this is not always the case at other hotels I have stayed at. Thank you.
With IHG membership, which I had, it is possible to get an extended check out time, although I wasn't looking for a late check out on this occasion.
Christchurch is a beautiful city - brimming with character, history and an overwhelming sense of collective resilience. I will be visiting again, and staying at the Crowne Plaza, without hesitation.
The room could sometimes get noisy from the proximity to the lifts, and possibly plumbing, but this did not bother me after the first night.
