Due to problems only stayed 2 nights instead of 3 nights that were payed for

Scaffolding and plastic sheeting over window, with workmen of the platform who could see directly into room.
Work started at 7.00 am
Bathroom shower head could not be held in position and cold water could not be turned on.
Cleaning of room inadequate.

Poor condition of the property,the fact that they NO Longer do breakfast or any other food was absolutely disgusting for the amount of money that the hotel cost.We booked this hotel for the convenience of Selby Abbey where our daughter was getting married on the 7th August.Alot of the wedding guests were also extremely disappointed with the inconvenience of No food,and the condition of the rooms ect and when you book a hotel you expect some staff to be around at all times.There was no Internet,no phones working,nothing put up on view that they no longer serving food(although in the book in room was still a copy of the food they served.!!!We paid a lot of money through your booking site and didn't get what we expected!!This is not good for your reputation as your selling their hotel to people and we didn't get what we expected.We would expect that hopefully you realize how dissatisfied we were,and compensate us for this amount as we then had to look elsewhere for breakfast and lunch and dinner meals!!!not happy at all.

A lovely old building with lots potential, in a wonderful location in the centre of Selby right next to the Abbey. Some

Fantastic location

Cons:

The building was undergoing renovations and was surrounded with scaffolding, having workmen walking past your window before you are out of bed isn’t great.
The room was quite dusty probably due to the building renovations.
The WiFi didn’t work and when reported, the member of staff was aware of it but didn’t seem to care. Just to make the evening a little more boring the reception on the television was so poor it made it impossible to watch.

Could have been better
Pros:

The location was great. The staff were lovely

Cons:

The room needs updating badly. The bathroom was small, as was the shower cubicle with poor water pressure and temperature control.
The bed itself had seen better days.
As I said, needs updating badly, hence the price
