A very nice hotel, with a remarkable Secret Attraction
Pros:

Our room was excellent ... quiet, spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel interior was classically beautiful. There was a major sporting event nearby and parking was at a premium, but even then, there was room to park in back of the hotel, near the ancient Abbey ruins. The presence of this historical monument bordering the hotel grounds must be considered a unique benefit for any interested guest. We would love to return.

Cons:

Access to the ruins or parking behind the hotel was, um, disjointed. There seemed to be no back door for guests. We walked around the end of the building through the parking lot to get there. Certainly not a major chore, but it just seemed odd... In the context of the hotel's many appealing qualities, that must be considered trivial.

Afternoon tea
Pros:

Had afternoon tea here today with my friends . Was so nice and relaxing . Can’t remember the name of the guy that was dealing with us but he was so friendly and accommodating. 2 other member of staff came over to see how we were getting on and so welcoming. The afternoon tea its self was lovely . Came in 3 courses so scones were lovely and warm and desserts were cold and fresh . 10/10 . Will defo be back for afternoon tea alone . Was such a special day and felt it here at the abbey hotel x

Relaxing night away
Pros:

Beautiful entrance and bar. Very friendly staff

Cons:

Breakfast was average. We booked to have breakfast at 9.25. Came down. No bacon and it wasnt refilled even when asked. Ordered two boiled eggs. They came out uncooked raw . Coffee was good. No extra large beds which was a pity but bed was comfy. Bar food was lovely
