Vile disgusting 🤮 hotel, the manager needs to know what house keeping means ….
Pros:

Breakfast was over expensive, free car park

Cons:

The hotel could of been a beautiful 4* hotel, but the current owners don’t bother to clean /check cleaners have done a good job , wall paper peeling off paint peeling off walls mould stains on the walls dirt on carpet hairs on carpet stains on furniture, smells damp dirty room , came home early didn’t dare, couldn’t spend another night, not been decorated since king Henry left his curtains behind, ….

Zeer mooi hotel, mooi locatie en mooie kamers
Pros:

Cons:

Ontbijt en het eten

A beautiful place, but check which building your room is in.
Pros:

Excellent service by staff. Comfortable, clean and spacious room.

Cons:

The images on the website are if the Old Lodge. This is not, however, where we were accommodated: when we arrived, we were told to walk down the road, which has a narrow footpath, which at the time was not usable due to roadworks, to an annexe. When I booked the accommodation, it probably told me that this is what I had paid for, but in small print. It was a bit disappointing, but we did make use of the gardens and bar during the morning of our departure and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

A hotel undergoing significant restoration on the outside and in need of updating on the inside.
Pros:

The location of the main hotel was good but the annex down the road is not in a good location

Cons:

Our room(No 14) was a small double with nowhere to store suitcases. The bed was hard and the tv was very small. The bathroom was particularly disappointing as there were no shelves so we had to put our toilet bags on the floor. The shower cubicle was also small with no soap tray and the light was so dim it was impossible to shave with or put makeup on. The towels had lost their soft feel through overuse and constant laundering.

Great location & good value for money
Pros:

Exactly as described, stopped one night and excellent location. Friendly receptionist. Didn’t eat or drink so can’t comment . Stopped in the white Swann rooms which was the cheapest option, modern , good value for money. Can also park at the main building which was good

Cons:

Huge bathroom was great , only a ‘ telephone style’ tap which was good for washing hair but not for a shower. Lots of space so suggestion would be to install a free standing shower. This didn’t bother us as only staying one night , but would if staying longer

A wonderful historic property located on the edge of a lovely market town.
Pros:

This is a fabulous Grade 2* listed property that is steeped in history. The garden to the rear of the property is large, well maintained and has some fabulous old trees some of which are probably centuries old.

The staff were all great and we had the opportunity to speak to the owner who told us about the history of the property which was fascinating.

The room was quiet, spacious, clean and comfortable and very much in keeping with the historic nature of the building.

We had dinner at the hotel which was great value and I can highly recommend the fish pie. The breakfast was equally tasty and filling.

This is my first visit to Malton and it is a fabulous market town with a great variety of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants I just wish I'd had more time to explore it - maybe next time.
