It has real character — a beautiful Georgian-style hall with plenty of charm.
Pros:

Old lodge in Malton. It has real character a beautiful Georgian-style hall full of charm and is currently undergoing renovation to restore it to its best. The property features beautiful gardens and parkland, stunning stone floors, huge rooms fitted with beautiful furniture, and plenty of parking. This is not a Premier Inn style hotel; it’s a Grade I listed building steeped in history, with character and atmosphere you simply cannot recreate in a modern build. Overall, it’s an exciting project with fantastic surroundings and huge potential.

Cons:

Rm 4 Bath room would benefit from refurbishment but clean.

A very enjoyable experience
Pros:

Located just a short walk from the town centre with additional accommodation in an annex just a couple of minutes away. We experienced both locations, which were very comfortable. The restaurant has a limited menu but well priced and the bar prices are sensible. This hotel was, we understand, acquired last year and they appear to be working hard to renovate and improve this lovely old building. The grounds are beautiful and on the day we arrived a wedding was in full swing. The staff are, in our eyes, exceptionally friendly and went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay. This seemed to rub off on the other guests as we were soon chatting. We will definitely return.

Very good location for cycle tour of the Wolds
Pros:

The room was a good size and dinner and breakfast were very good.
The hotel was an excellent location as part of my cycle tour of the Wolds. Car parking was very good.

Cons:

I was in the annex which wasn't as close to the main hotel as I would have liked - tricky storing the bike and moving between annex and hotel.

The staff were lovely. The room was very very small and the music was extremely loud. I don’t think it was worth the mon
Pros:

The location of the property was nice

Cons:

The room we were allocated was very small. Although we were emailed before arrival to inform us there was a function and music would be playing, we didn’t realise the music would be right below our bedroom and it was so loud the walls of our room were vibrating.
