I stayed at the Groes Inn on the 24th July 2026
The staff where pleasant but our stay was not worth the price.
People where allowed dogs all over the pub. We did not have pets but where made to eat at the side of a couple with a dog and also had some walk in and had their dog jump up at us whilst eating our dinner.
When we got to the room, ( room 1 )
It had air fresheners all around the room.
Room full of dust ,the chair was falling to bits, the cutlery was dirty where the tea and coffee was, the bed made me itch and sleep was appalling
The bathroom was disgusting and the tiles needed washing.
Breakfast, flies on the open food and egg benedick was bland with lacked flavour .
When checking our, did not ask how our stay was and just took the key.
I will not be staying again and would not recommend.
Staff where pleasant.
Room 1
Was dirty, dusty and smelt, had air freshener in to mask the smell - which got on my chest making it hard to breathe
Bed itchy and uncomfortable
Tiles in bathroom black and mouldy
Tea and coffee cutlery dirty.
Food in restaurant - dogs everywhere - need to be given options where to sit.
Flies all over food.
At the end of our stay, the staff didn't ask how our stay was, took the key and said bye.
The staff and the food were excellent
Good location & food.
The whole place could do with a refurd f
Helpful staff, good food & drink at a fair price. Rooms clean and comfortable and a good size.
The Mountain View rooms were worth paying a little more for.
The bedroom was beautifully decorated.
Bathroom needs an immediate upgrade.
There was a fair amount of black mould, cracked tiles and shower curtain was of the cheapest plastic quality!
Everything ! especieley the weather
Car parking
In a good location with lovely views at the rear, not too far from Conwy etc.
Our bedroom was very hot with only one small fan and no ventilation in bathroom . We find that in most hotels there is nowhere that ladies can sit in comfort to style hair and makeup. Just provide a seat in front of a well lit surface with a mirror. Also a shelf or small table in bathroom to put clothes on while washing.
Lovely pub & friendly staff, our room was clean cosy & comfortable
The noise from the road !
The view from our room
Very hot, no fans, management rude.
We arrived to a very dusty room, curtains wide open lights on, a small but very loud fan blowing hot air
The room was hotter than outside. We asked for an additional fan the manger said its the weather? Ill.find you a fan but never came back. There was constant banging from the water tank. At breakfast were were put away from everyone in which we refused. The strive and management were so poor no communication. Other people were complaining to us it. We had no sleep ! Could of been so nice if clean and cool
Such a beautiful place. Great views. Close to the town and the parking was good. Delicious breakfast
Nothing
Friendly staff, amazing evening meals, great views from our bedroom, easy parking
This didn’t really affect our comfort but the bathroom had seen much better days.
The Groes Inn is in a very good location for exploring the Conwy Valley. The staff were friendly and the food good. We would definitely stay there again.
Love the location and food choices very good
We loved the wide open views and balcony. The public bar and restaurant were good. The accomodation was clean and spacious ..
