We loved the location, the excellent service and the great food. The Groes Inn has a very relaxed vibe and nothing is too much trouble for the hard working staff. We woke to the local farmer using 3 of his dogs to herd the sheep in the adjoining field and nearly miised breakfast!! The location overlooking fields and hills is stunning. It was so quiet overnight too so we had an excellent nights sleep.
The room was a bit hot as the sun had been streaming in all day. Maybe close the curtains if possible earlier in the day?
Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff
The Groes was on a busy, main road, whereas the image showed a set back building. As the window had to be kept open in warm weather (no fan) sleep was disturbed.
On a very busy evening, food served had missing elements eg prawn &avocado salad had no avocado. A main meal offering spinach had no spinach!!! Other nights were fine.
Very comfortable big room and two armchairs
Nothing
The Mountain View
No pavement on the road that runs past it
Brilliant service, stunning location, excellent food
Nothing!
Beautiful location. View from the bottom back room was spectacular. Loved the sheep in the field.
The room was well appointed with vreat views and very quiet
Everything was hreat
Lovely large comfortable bed. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Good choice of breakfasts, coffee lovely.
Handy place to stay for visiting Bodnant gardens and Conwy.
Quite a busy road in front of the pub, our room was downstairs and facing the road. It's been an exceptionally hot few days and would have liked to have the windows open, but the road was too noisy. Maybe a fan in the room would have helped.
Also, the bathroom could have been cleaner, some tiles around the shower needed a good clean. The plughole may have been blocked slightly, therefore the water didn't run away quick enough so some water went outside the shower base.
It is a really pretty and authentic place. Our room was on top floor with a small balcony, great view of the hills and sheep. It was a warm day and the room was initially hot but we opened the door and it soon cooled down. Staff were great with simple check in process.
This is a dog friendly place so if you are not keen on dogs then this is probably not for you
Very clean and comfortable very friendly staff and customers 😄
Nothing really to dislike but the only thing there wasn’t anywhere to walk our dog unless you cross the road but it was a very clear view to cross .
Lovely evening meal, large room with an huge extremely comfortable bed and a tasty breakfast. All staff were professional and welcoming.
The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower was lovely and powerful but a little bit of maintenance was required
Fabulous old inn , friendly staff , delicious food , beautiful views !
Photo from my room , even had a little private terrace outside .
Sat on the sofa and laid in bed looking at the view , stunning.
There was nothing I didn't like about my stay here !
Evening meal was not a good standard, BUT the breakfast was very good, big choice, if we visit again we will look to get a better place for evening meal,
A little more spent on general maintenance
full of character - friendly helpful staff - comfortable - great breakfast - great location
Nothing comes to mind
Nada
The location is excellent. The four rooms varied between good and excellent. The breakfast was excellent.
The dinner service was sloooooow. On one evening, for example, two and a half hours to receive two courses, by which stage the dessert had run out.
