Disappointing lack of care and value
Pros:

The size of the room was great and the big windows let in a lot of natural light. A nice residential spot with good cafes, restaurants and shops nearby.

There are some lovely design elements in the room. The bathroom is a good size too.

Staff at the Canny Mans were very helpful and accommodating

Cons:

The outside and road noise was very intrusive with windows closed and made sleep difficult. Many aspects of the room are tired incl shower, bed, paint, tiles. It appeared on arrival that the room hadn't been vacuumed. Rubbish was not cleared one day. A bag of rubbish was left on our bed. Tea cups and spoons were turned over as if washed, but still dirty and it seems housekeeping also didn't vacuum during our 4 night stay.

A very good choice for a visit to Edinburgh if you don't require to be right in the centre.
Pros:

Generally well equipped with a good sized bathroom. Comfortable super-king bed. Minor problems with room were quickly dealt with. Although some distance from City centre the frequent and cheap bus service gave easy access to all the attractions.

Cons:

We would have liked some more storage/ shelf space.

Great to stay in Morningside and breakfast at The Canny Man’s
Pros:

Great area. Lovely breakfast in The Canny Man’s. Staff were excellent and it was a pleasure and privilege to chat to them in the pub area. They very kindly altered breakfast time to accommodate the pre-Edinburgh Marathon need for carbs!
Free first drink at the pub was marvellous. Thank you all.

Cons:

Unfortunately there was a loud alarm noise on two nights just after midnight that disturbed my sleep - I never asked what it was.
It was pricey for a room that was, on the whole, fairly unremarkable.

Good location but room disappointing

I’ve been to the lane multiple times now. The last room I was given was poorly appointed. There was nowhere to sit comfortably except on the bed. The toilet kept running all night. It was above the beer garden so very noisey when I opened the window. It had very little airflow unless the window was open. Normally I have really enjoyed my stays but this one wasn’t the most pleasant.

Sehr ruhig .Da wir einen Ausflug hatten bekommen wir ein sehr sehr gut befülltes Lunchpaket mit.auch ein Kuvert mit einer Summe für das gebuchte Frühstück. Wäre neiner Meinung nicht nötig...zeigt aber das Verhalten des Inhabers.sehr nett .Eben Familienbetrieb.Betten sind hervorragend.

Leider keinen Safe .Sonst nichts.
