Beautiful property in a lovely location, could do with a few wee freshen ups

Amazing grounds & nicely decorated room. Good shower, nice breakfast, and helpful staff.

Cons:

The room was really hot, no way to turn off heated towel rail and no AC. There was also black mould in the wardrobe.

We had a lovely stay and it was a pity it was for only one night. The staff were lovely and helpful
Pros:

The staff welcome and the quality of our accommodation and the flexibility to accommodate our different dietary needs was excellent. I loved the gardens and the walk down to the river. A beautiful setting and loved the jacuzzi.

Cons:

The vegetarian dinner option I selected was very disappointing. The 'creamy garlic and pea' sauce didn't taste of garlic at all and was so watery I was sprayed with it every time the linguine flicked.
the shower in the spa was scalding hot and there was no temperature control.

An excellent choice for a relaxing stay on the south coast of Cornwall
Pros:

First visit to this well reviewed hotel and spa. Generally very pleased with room and en-suite overlooking the golf course and surrounding landscape areas. Facilities such as indoor heated pool and sauna was very good together outside the jaccusi. We opted for the half board option which was very good with the dining room affording a pleasant view. Food quality was also good although the range of choices a little limited. Staff were attentive and friendly at all times which was much appreciated. The garden walk to the estuary on our last day was particularly lovely and would recommend guests check it out for themselves as no one had prompted us to venture out beyond the immediate area.

Cons:

The room key was particularly ‘clunky’ which irritated my wife no end as I swung it along the corridor like a jailers key ! In contrast to the high quality brassware in the bathroom, this seemed particularly archaic in comparison.
As mentioned the restaurant food was very good but the time between courses was particularly long to the point that I suggest guests should bring a book to pass the time.

The 20% surcharge on my drinks bill when checking out was a a bit of a downer.

Previous contributors have mentioned that ownership had changed recently and are in the process of a planned reburbishment. Attention should be directed towards the pool area as it is showing signs of deterioration in the roof structure and tiled areas if they are to replicate the spa/pool experience as that of Borringdon Hall in Plymouth.

Personal sehr freundlich, Essen exzellent, wirklich ruhige Lage

Cons:

Badewanne nicht abgeflossen, gute Betten, sehr ruhige Lage, Frühstück und Abendessen bitte rechtzeitig die Zeiten reservieren, Golfen inkludiert, das Equipment zum Ausborgen allerdings in die Jahre gekommen.

Perfect relaxing spot, beautiful grounds expertly kept. Very good for the soul

We were very disappointed and felt let down. We paid full price for an unacceptable room

Lovely location with fantastic grounds and good indoor swimming pool and sauna

Cons:

There was building work in the room on the floor below. The noise was constant from the point of check in around 3.30pm and then started in the morning at 7.40am. There was no pre warning of the building work and it was totally unacceptable. There was also no apology when the building work was reported to reception in the morning.

Pros:

Lovely rooms, great location, beautiful grounds. All very comforatble.

Cons:

The food in the restaurant was poor and not up to the standard of rest of the hotel. We ate elsewhere most nights.
There was a tapping noise in our bedroom - probably water pipes - that was disturbing at night.

Heerlijk luxe verblijf
Pros:

Mooie omgeving, prachtige tuinen. Lekker zwembad en vooral de jaccuzi buiten was heerlijk. Ruime kamer met fijne bedden en Ruime badkamer.

Cons:

Het eten in het restaurant viel nogal tegen.
