A relaxing and pleasant overnight break
Pros:

Lovely breakfast, well decorated, clean, and comfortable bedroom. Had a bath as well as a shower - bonus! Communal areas were well presented, clean and tidy. Staff were helpful, friendly, and engaging. The main course and desserts were lovely at dinner. The bar staff where pleasant and efficient. The pool was clean and warm.

Cons:

The corridor that the rooms are on is tired and looks shabby compared to the rest of the hotel. The hot tub was ridiculously hot to the point that I just sat on the side. The starters on the dinner were mediocre.

Clean, large and comfortable room with good amenities. Generous breakfast, plenty of parking spaces

Cons:

The hotel is not particularly welcoming for anyone with mobility issues. We were shown to the lift, but once up to the second floor still had to negotiate short flights of stairs, which rather undid the benefit. The shower over the bath was perilous to get into and out of for someone with a disability. A walk-in shower is so much safer! The property is obviously old and the floorboards creaked in places

Lovely situated hotel with its own Golf course great staff and great rooms and facilities and it’s only a short walk to the Helford River through their gardens, we were picked up from their river frontage by Hettie and her boat for a couple of hours exploring up and down the Helford River there was an abundance of bird life and we even saw dolphins a fantastic trip.

Cons:

New owners are still upgrading this hotel and we are looking forward to the new changes- we were Not too keen on their new restaurant menu. Room was in good order but the flush on the toilet was broken and you could only use the long flush when we are supposed to be saving water. There seemed to have been more dogs staying this time than the previous stays which might make a difference to some peoples choices to stay or not to?

A great disappointment!
Pros:

Beautiful location. Comfortable bed. Large room.

Cons:

Dirty toilet in room- ingrained.
Both cups were tea stained and I had to request two clean ones.
Menu limited. Expected more from what is supposed to be a top class hotel. No one seemed to be front of house ensuring guests were being looked after.
Breakfast - Guests are paying a high price for breakfast then have to serve themselves. Not what we expected from this hotel.
Corridors upstairs in poor state. In fact general lack of cleaning/repair throughout.
We have stayed here in the past and saddened by its slow decline over the last few years.
We were going to book a week at the end of October but sadly (as love the location) we will be going elsewhere.

Lovely, but not quite as expected.
Pros:

There is young lady on reception called Ottilie who is absolutely amazing. The room was lovely with a fabulous view of the grounds.

Cons:

The restuarsnt menu is not good and there is not a lot of choice. Although the hotel is dog friendly there is a very large charge of £20 per night for your dog, I had assumed as in other places we stayed that we'd be given treats and toys, beside the bed and bowl that was supplied.He did get a sausage if you asked at breakfast but it wasn't offered. For that type of charge you expect something more. There also needs to be some work on the drive from the hotel to the car park and lights installed not very safe at present at night,
