Un beau et vieil hôtel qui vit sur ses acquis ...
Pros:

Très ancienne maison située dans un bel espace naturel, superbe jardin, agréable marche jusqu'à la rivière, le calme ... chambre spacieuse, literie confortable ... belle piscine intérieure. La nourriture au restaurant est excellente. Bar , terrasse et salons également agreables.

Cons:

Globalement les locaux sont vieillissants et ont besoin d un gros rafraîchissement. Le personnel est poli ni accueillant ni attentionné.. L emplacement assez isolé ne laisse guère d autre option pour le dîner que le restaurant de l hôtel. Une belle et ancienne maison qui a perdu son âme.

Beautiful location with extensive grounds, its own golf course, tennis courts and indoor pool.
Pros:

Beautiful grounds and the walk down to the foreshore is a must.

Cons:

The wooden flooring in the entrance hall could do with a deep clean and re-polish.
While most carpets were in good order, there was the odd stain on our corridor.
We expected a larger variety of meal options on the dinner menu - some local pubs outdid the hotel in this regard.

A superbly relaxing stay in the heart of Cornwall.
Pros:

Everything - especially the friendliness of the staff. We want to mention Holly in particular- she works in the bar and conservatory area and is a delight to all customers and dogs! The spa facilities are superb and the whole ambiance of the hotel is spot on!

Cons:

In a deluxe 4 star hotel room there should be a small fridge.

Great location but spa needs updating
Pros:

Great location with access to the river through beautiful garden walk. Walking to Ferry Boat in and Bar beach were via steep steps but beach was good and full of shells to hunt and swimming.

Cons:

Spa pool is very very dated although they do have a new sauna. JaccuzI didn’t work but was warm and was outside. The staff seemed distracted when we arrived and at times we couldn’t find anyone to help or get the bill. We were on the 3rd floor and the room had no air conditioning and even though it was only 21 outside the room was very stuffy and hot all day and all night.

Good, apart from a few niggles.
Pros:

This is the second time staying at Budock Vean. It is a beautiful place. The rooms are well equipped, clean and comfortable. The staff on the whole are excellent.

Cons:

Sadly on this stay there were a couple of niggles with the room. The shower was faulty and the sink plug jammed closed so we were unable to use the sink as we couldn’t empty the water out. This wasn’t able to be sorted out during our short stay.
One other issue happened on checking out. The exit road was blocked whilst some maintenance work was being carried out. Sadly we weren’t made aware of this and that we weren’t able to leave until the road was cleared. There were two other couples unable to leave rendering one of them late for a wedding. People should have been told about this so they could have made other arrangements.

Excellent and relaxing location. Meals a great disappointment. Will not return.

The location is exceptional. Staff were very helpful.

Cons:

The hotel is obviouisly in transition by the new owners in refurbishment of the rooms. The decor is tired and needs painting in certian areas. The meals were a big disappointment for the cost and calibre of the hotel. The cooked breafast was frugal and the dining times too regimented. The evening meals were limited in choice, the ingedients not combined well and farl below the standard expected for the price.(for example the rump steak was tough as old boots, small in size and not cooked as requested).

Wenn Sie England uns speziell Cornwall kennenlernen möchten und mobil sind, dann schauen sie vorbei!
Pros:

Es gab täglich ein umfangreiches kontinentales Frühstücksbuffett. Die englischen/conrishen Frühstücksvarianten durfte man sich ergänzend auswählen und wurden serviert. Die Qualität der angebotenen Produkte wahren sehr gut.

Auch Lunch, Teetime und Dinner samt der Auswahl wahren herausragend.

Die gesamte Anlage ist schon sehr alt, verströmt aber auch desswegen den englischen Charme den wir gesucht haben. Man kann Baden am Fluss gehen, oder in das hauseigene Schwimmbad. Die Golfer kommen natürlich auf Ihre Rechnung, genauso die Tennisspieler. Und die Gegend ist traumhaft.

Cons:

Im Prinzip nichts was uns nicht gefallen hat. Klar muss einem sein, dass dies ein Objekt mit langer Geschichte ist.
