Would thoroughly recommend this hotel but beware of the hill into the town
Pros:

We stayed in a deluxe double room with balcony on the 1st floor. A spacious room with comfortable bed and sofa. The bathroom wasn't that big but perfectly acceptable. Lovely views of the sea and coast line. We enjoyed watching boats and yachts coming in and out of the harbour.
Having the swimming pool and spa was particularly good. The pool is a nice size and there's a large hot tub, steam and sauna with a number of seating options around it.
The staff were all helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was good and buffet style in the main restaurant. Specialty dishes can be ordered.
We ate a couple of meals in the bar area which were nice. The bar had a nice balcony again offering great views of the sea.
Parking is in dedicated bays on the road opposite the hotel. You collect a parking permit at check in.
Looe is a wonderful place with so much to see. Great eating places and bars. The ferry from the west to east side is a must at £1 per person and in August runs until @7.30pm. It saves a fairly long walk to and over the only bridge.

Cons:

Whilst the hill down to Looe town is a manageable walk, the walk back up required a taxi each time.
The leisure centre changing rooms are small and lockers need attention. You need a trolley token or £1 coin to lock them. Only a few had keys with a wrist band. No soap or shampoo in the showers. You need to go to reception to sign in and out of the leisure centre and pick up towels. The centre is then up a floor and stairs.
There's a step free lift from the road to reception but be careful not to stand near the doors as the censors will stop the lift!
Even though there is a lift to various floors there are stairs to reach it and then a few stairs to each corridor for the rooms.

Pros:

It was clean and the staff were very friendly. Main meal was good

Cons:

Our accommodation needed maintenance on it. Television didn't work! Bathroom floor needed attention and bath panel was coming off. Very hot in room.
Dessert was expensive and not good.

A bargain
Pros:

Outstanding value, especially for peak season. I paid £103 for a comfortable bed * en suite (bath with shower over - best pressure as long as I can remember) * anazing breakfast - included several high end options all without extra charge * free use of spa * spectacular views. And great staff!

What you get for your money is magnificent (& I'm fussy!)

Other reviewers moan the single room was too small! It wasn't that bad - I have stayed in worse!

Accommodation in Looe is expensive, especially in season - £170 in a pub is common.

Cons:

Because I had mobility issues, I was dependent on taxis to & from the centre of Looe - but I can't blame the hotel for that!

Pros:

I had a superior room but it only had a single bed. The bed was comfy though. The room was basic but fine. Staff were very helpful and even gave us a secluded spot to park our motorcycles so they were out of sight. The view from the terrace bar is amazing and we had a good chat with the night barman Matt who was very nice. Drinks were good.

Cons:

Given that it was called a superior room I do feel the room should have been better and bigger than it was.

Great week at looe
Pros:

View from room was great. Swimming pool sauna and jacuzzi amazing. Also a big plus was the snooker table.

Cons:

First night in room. Without a balcony. Feel booking.com description should be changed as we understood we had paid for Seaview and balcony but the hotel said balcony had to be requested. I feel this is false advertising. We were lucky as a room.. with balcony became available and the manager was happy to move us.

Great view at tired hotel
Pros:

Location was brilliant and room with sea view was amazing!

Cons:

The staff contradicted each other and when we went to use the pool we had to return to room to get towels, then get coins for lockers, only to find there was no family changing area as incorrectly briefed, and most lockers were broken and out of use. The entire hotel including spa facilities is very tired and for costs paid this should take place soonest!

Pros:

Breakfast room, layout and views. Staff and service good too.

Bar and dining area and views, nice staff service too.

Cons:

Shower plumbing was faulty (413) as it dripped constantly though the shower when used was fine. No noise though if the connecting door was closed!

Extractor fan noise from kitchens below not great either.
