Location was great
Dirty run down hotel needs updating not worth the price
My husband was staying here as part of a long cycle ride. He needed somewhere in central Stone. The room was comfortable and he was able to bring his bike inside which was a plus.
The window looked out on a wall and the hotel no longer serve breakfast which the website had not been clear about.
It’s location
No hot water dirty room and worst of all booking . Com were not helpful at all
Bar area
Room ,bathroom had hold in the ceiling, wasn’t clean thick dust in radiator skirting etc
Good location that's it
Rooms were not same as pics not been cleaned very dusty and dirt on some of door frames
Disgusting, dirty, tv didn’t work, no a/c. Noisy. Do not stay here.
As above. No replenishment of coffee milk etc. dirty kettle
The town it was in.
The hotel smelt of damp towels in the entrance hall and reception. The chairs in the public areas were filthy. The early check-in I had requested and agreed at an extra cost was not made available. The room was not in the main hotel but in another building. The door lock was broken and there were exposed wires on the outside. The wardrobe was a carcass of an original and had no shelves. The top of the wardrobe was thick with dust. The bedside lamp only worked if the wire was wiggled. The hairdryer holder fell off the wall. There was paint flaking off in patches. The window did not open sufficiently to let any air in and there was no air-conditioning. The curtains were old, stiff and dirty. The lampshades were dirty. The bathroom walls were very unclean, there was residue of something unknown around the sink. There were insufficient toiletries. The toilet itself was okay. There was no cover on the drain in the shower cubicle and it had a plastic bottle stuck down it. The sink and shower surrounds were black with mould. There was a mark on the bedsheets and a living insect in the bed that was not a spider. The carpet had not been vacuumed properly so I felt unwilling to take my shoes off. With the broken door lock and the general dirtiness and bad wiring (one of the sockets only worked erratically), I got ready for the function I was attending and returned later to collect my belongings having arranged alternative accommodation for the night. When the staff were advised that I would not be staying one of them offered to show me another room but I declined. The other member of staff (a female, name unknown) was somewhat hostile when I told her that I would be leaving my car there and I had to point out that I was not parking for free as I had already paid £103 for my room.
Only the location
The room, the bed, the shower and no breakfast availability.
Booked for 2 only 1 towel supplied. Shampoo and conditioner had been used and not replaced, no shower mat for tiled floor. No coffee or spoon. And bare plaster behind the radiator where it looked like the radiator cover had been removed. Coffee was supplied by the receptionist. I later went to the bar, rang the bell twice, no member of staff around so I went to the pub up the road.
The location at the centre of town and near the wedding venue was a bonus.
The room was clean and tidy.
The hotel struggled to find my reservation, staff were friendly and helpful though. Wasn't clear when booking the room that it wouldn't actually be in the hotel itself but rather in the annex building on the otherside of the carpark.
The walls are very thin, could hear the tv from the other rooms and even moving about.
Fairly sure when booking I asked for two single beds which we didn't get, luckily we could make it work.
Location was perfect
The photos of the booking do not match the room we had. The room had no fan, despite being in a heat wave. There was weed remnants in a drawer of the desk. The floor had bits on that kept sticking to my feet. The bathroom had a huge hole in the ceiling with the plaster falling off. The bathroom is tired and passable at most.
The location was great and parking available to
The property check in time was 2pm, we arrived at 2:45 and was given keys. Went to the room and the room was a mess, empty cans everywhere. Bed not made, dirty tissues and towels everywhere. Went down and complained and staff said cleaners must not have been and cleaned yet, we then had to wait till 3:30 to check into the room. Went back to the room, the window was smashed, dirty bathroom, towels stained and bedding also stained. It was a very hot day there was no air in the room or fan provided and window could not be opened due to being smashed. Went down and complained again and was told there was no other rooms left.
Our room was Absolutely disgusting, the carpets, upholstery were heavily stained. Wall paper peeling off the walls. There was a small bathroom bin, jammed between the bathroom windows to keep it open.
The level of dust on the main window allowed you yo scribe the words - clean me, to bring notice to housekeeping. We arrived late around 12.30am so limited staff who could address some of our issues.
Obviously will record temperatures, we expected at least a fan in our room, no bottles of water and the bar was closed. Not the best £110.00 spent
Would never recommend this for anyone to stay overnight.
Easy to access and with validated parking. The young man who works there helped us with more towels and an extra spot clean of the room when we weren’t happy with the cleanliness. We thank him for this.
Absolutely zero attention to detail. The stair carpets are filthy and lots of dust/damp patches in general areas. Smells like old cigarette smoke throughout the building. We have 2 small children so chose a ‘Family Deluxe’ room - it was street facing, opposite a late night bar, on 3rd floor, no lift. No air conditioning or fans provided (we even rang ahead to check this) so very noisy with window open. Our room hadn’t been cleaned except for new bed sheets which was evident in the fact that dirty cups, teaspoons & plate had just been rearranged on the desk which unfortunately, like the beside tables, was also sticky & had hair & dust on and clearly hadn’t been wiped. Toilet hadn’t been cleaned very well either, there was ‘remnants’ of whoever had last used it in the toilet bowl.
Nothing at all
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel other travellers should be aware of the issues we experienced during our stay.
We booked two rooms for three nights. Unfortunately, both rooms suffered from significant problems.
My room contained visible black mould in the shower area and was covered in dust. Because I have a dust allergy, this caused immediate concern. I was moved to another room, but the replacement room was also heavily dusty.
The second room had a broken shower, plaster that had fallen from the ceiling, excessive dust, and a door handle that had fallen off. The room was clearly not being maintained to an acceptable standard.
After complaining, the occupants were moved to another room. However, that room was also dusty and the problems did not end there. The replacement room's access system failed, leaving the occupants locked out and unable to access any of their belongings. Staff were unable to resolve the issue and advised that a locksmith would need to attend the following day.
One of the guests was pregnant and was left without access to essential personal items and pregnancy-related equipment. This added considerable distress to an already unacceptable situation.
Communication was poor throughout. Attempts to contact the property were unsuccessful and Booking.com also struggled to obtain a response.
The most disappointing aspect was that problems existed across both original rooms and both replacement rooms, suggesting these were not isolated incidents.
Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel and would strongly advise potential guests to read recent reviews carefully before booking.
Free car parking
The main door lock in the framework was broken out so the actual inside of the door lock didn't go into the recess so the locking system didn't work, I had to go to the reception on two more occasions because the electronic key wouldn't open the doors, there was parts missing from the shower taps I managed to get the shower to switch on but it would not switch off, so I had to turn the stop connections off on the wall pipes
Comfy beds, clean room, great LED mirror in bathroom. Hotel accommodated us a room before check in to enable us to get ready for a wedding.
Needs bit of cosmetic work, no spoons for tea/coffee facilities, bathroom light didn’t work but LED mirror was bright enough, missing tv remote.
