A Wonderful Stay at The Havelock Hotel

My wife and I recently enjoyed a three-night stay at The Havelock Hotel in Shanklin, and we came away feeling that we had discovered a really lovely place to stay on the Isle of Wight.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. The owners and staff were all incredibly friendly, approachable and helpful, and their genuine warmth made such a difference to our stay.

Our room was perfect for our needs — very clean, comfortable and clearly well looked after. It was lovely to return to after a day out exploring the island.

Breakfast was another real highlight. It was freshly prepared and ordered from a menu, which we much prefer to the usual buffet-style breakfast. Everything we had was really good, and you could tell that care had gone into preparing it.

The hotel also has a small but very nice swimming pool, which was a lovely added bonus and a great place to relax.

The location of The Havelock is absolutely perfect. It is close to everything in Shanklin, making it incredibly convenient for getting out and about while still providing a lovely, peaceful place to return to at the end of the day.

What really stood out to us, though, was the friendliness of everyone at the hotel. The owners and staff genuinely made us feel welcome, and there was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere throughout our stay.

We would definitely recommend The Havelock Hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Shanklin. In fact, if we find ourselves back on the Isle of Wight, we would have absolutely no hesitation in staying here again.

It was in a quiet location, clean, tidy and a great layout. The pool was an added bonus👍

The hotel is in a great location for both the beach and the very pretty old village. The hosts and staff are very friendly and accommodating, proving towels for the pool and fans and additional sheets to help during the hot weather. The breakfast menu is very good and swiftly served with excellent produce.

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. Our room was spotlessly clean and so comfortable. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast (and at the bar in the evening 😀)

Very welcoming and helpful. Very clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast - that also came out promptly. Swimming pool lovely too. 5-10 minutes walk to the beach which was great. I would define recommend and would stay here again.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. 5 minutes walk one way to the beach or 5 minutes the other way to the old town, and still with a sea view. The hotel is really lovely, with great facilities and a nice clean pool area. Our room was spotless and really nicely decorated. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast included, with plenty of choice, and lots of it. Paul was a great host and always on hand to help with anything we needed.

Paul and Vicki were so friendly and nothing would be too much trouble if you needed anything.

Myself and my wife have visited this hotel on many occasions, the last time being approximately four years ago, and the overall holiday experience was excellent. Both Paul and Vicki were superb hosts with nothing being too much trouble for them. The cleanliness and decor of the hotel were outstanding and the breakfast first rate using local produce.
