Location
Dirty room , unprofessional staff , bad attitude, poor breakfast,
Room was clean, organized and bed was extremely comfortable. Staff was able to accommodate an early check in without issue and location was excellent. Walking distance to university of pittsburgh.
Bathroom drain was slow and didn't drain completely after shower and bathroom light flickered off and on when in use.
The room was very spacious. We appreciated the kitchenette with big fridge.
Breakfast which was included in our rate was filling.
My wife enjoyed usung the small gym.
Staff were pleasant and professionally trained.
It was expensive for a 2-night stay. And became more expensive when they added the daily parking fee which we weren't informed of in advance.
While breakfast was diverse, it was mainly high on carbohydrates, including the make-your-own waffles. Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers would be a nice improvement.
The indoor swimming pool was very small, more like something used for aqua therapy.
Location was great; loved the on site parking.
I did not see a bath mat- I might have missed it?
As Marriott Reward Members, we stayed here since it was close to the Zoo. The only problem was the tight parking garage.
This was our third stay at the Residence Inn (We are in a study at UPMC). We always have a good comfortable stay. Rooms include full-size fridge, small dishwasher, microwave and stovetop (no oven). They provide various dishes and soap. The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Small rooms have one double-bed and a pull-out couch; larger rooms have two double beds. They also have a counter and table.
Public spaces include a large lobby and they serve a full breakfast (included)--make-your-own waffles, cereal, meats, eggs, oatmeal with diverse fixins, juice, coffee, tea. There is also a living room like common area. The pool is small and in a kind of echo-y room but we still enjoy it. It's open from 8 to 8. There is a lift if you need it to get in the pool. There is also a fitness center that my husband found satisfactory.
I just noticed this time there is a corner store in the building that has some food, etc.
There are various restaurants nearby with pizza, lots of salad/bowl places, etc.
Walking distance to the hospital complex.
Parking garage has seen better days but we are always able to get parking right by the front.
I just noticed this time, they do allow pets, for a fee.
Overall a satisfactory place to stay, and if you unfortunately must be near the hospital for a length of time, I think you will be comfortable here.
There is no parking garage at this hotel. They use a secondary location across from them. They offer parking passes, but can not guarantee you will get parking.
room
breakfast could be better
I was a little hesitant to book this because of parking and not knowing this area of pittsburgh all that well. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Hotel staff starting with front desk help (emmet??) was outstanding. Servers for breakfast also very polite. Room was fine, breakfast was fine, convenience store a block down, seems like there were restaurants in the area but one we tried to walk to was shut down because of construction. Parking was a concern but we checked in about 5 and did not have any problems. Pet fee was very reasonable. Really should have stayed a third night, but only planned a short trip. Overall, decent value.
Location
Parking
Room size and cleanliness was great. I loved all the room had to offer- shelves, a closet, a table to eat at, kitchenette, etc. Everything was great with the room. Breakfast was wonderful. There was lots of seating for eating and some to relax or work at. The staff was very friendly. The location is a nice walking distance to Pitt. They have lots of snacks for sale at the front desk and a convenience store right next door for anything else you might need.
The parking garage was small. Checking in was confusing because we were unsure where to park to do so. Then we had paid for a "parking garage" spot for $22 but it was actually an open lot spot a little ways down the street. I don't believe I saw any directions beforehand about any of this. If this was sent, that's my fault.
Convenient location. Rooms were comfortable.
