Nice hotel
Pros:

Rooms and bathrooms are spacious. The upper floors have amazing views. We were able to watch fireworks shows from across the area from our room.

I do wish the closet space was a little bigger. The tiles in the shower are slippery, so a mat would be handy, along with a stool to aid when shaving your legs.

We were very disappointed in Wifi availability. We are Bonvoy members and maybe had wifi for about an hour each day.

Elegant accommodations and friendly, helpful staff.
Pros:

I had a breakfast croissant and coffee in the snack area. I am a light eater in the morning.

Cons:

I truly liked everything. The room was beautiful and very well-maintained; I emailed photos to my wife. The building itself is well-designed and even the choice of carpeting in the hallway was lovely.

Okay, not worth the money unless you need to be walking distance to soldier field.
Pros:

Convenient location for the plans we had at Soldier Field.

Cons:

Over priced for the value and amenities. Limited food options, half closed. Basic rooms nothing special. No fine dining restaurant is surprising at such a high price point for a room. Lobby is as not orderly, front desks look temporary and under construction. Room plain, didn’t have items like robes as brochure mentioned.

Thank you, Paris!
Pros:

After a long day's drive, we were greeted by Paris at reception with a warm welcome.

She took time to assign us a very nice room and patiently answered all of our questions about the hotel's facilities.

The room was spotless and spacious; very comfortable for a stay of 5 nights.

Good rooms close to McCormick, but expensive and staff that can be unfriendly if you don’t book directly.
Pros:

Close to McCormick. Good room.

Cons:

Staff. Would not check me in because I used booking.com. Then no valet.

Poor Management and Employee Conduct
Pros:

Just don’t. We booked this hotel for one night for a family trip to Chicago for a concert at Soldier field. The proximity to the venue and the supposed valet parking were the most important features for us when choosing this hotel. Unfortunately, when we showed up, we were told valet parking was full and routed to an overflow lot to self park by the valet attendant. Once arriving at the overflow lot, we were again told that lot was full and routed to a different overflow lot - that was MILES from the hotel - with no shuttle to get us back to the hotel. After speaking with the hotel manager to express our frustration, we were told that the overflow lot was not full - (if you were a hotel guest - which we were), but the lot attendant was telling people it was anyway. The manager assured me we would receive compensation for the parking issue, but that never occurred. To add to it, when we checked into our room, we discovered AirPods and a charger on the desk. Immediately after finding them, I returned to the front desk and gave them to the desk attendant. While I was at the front desk, housekeeping knocked on the room door and asked my niece where the AirPods were, as they were her (the housekeeper’s) AirPods. My niece shared that they were turned into the front desk. Several minutes later, another knock at the door - this time from security, again asking for the AirPods and basically insinuating my niece had them and was not returning them. She again confirmed they were turned into the front desk. On our last day, while sitting in the lobby before departure, other hotel guests were approaching the bell stand to check their bags for the day - which they were directed to do by the front desk staff. The bellman told multiple guests that bags were not to be dropped at the bell desk before yelling across the lobby to the front desk staff to inform them to stop directing guests to the bell stand for bag storage. I expect more from Marriott and will never return to this property. It is clearly in need of management changes.

Don’t stay here
Pros:

We come here annually for a meeting and have stayed here before. Our family has reserved a room and even paid for one day early so we could have early check in but they cancelled our room when we checked in at 5 am.

The check in people were so unkind and rude. Very unhelpful. Didn’t matter we had the reservation number to verify. Totally unacceptable and never notified us they gave our room away.

No benefit being Bonvoy either, never helped us. They can do this because of the location but honestly this is such unethical for a Marriott.
