We always love staying here. The hotel has been a destination for my partner's family since she was a child..... decades.
A great place to stay if you have a few days. We loved the last room we had, and of course, the view. We will be back.
The veiw was amazing, and large rooms.
Walk back from beach up the road was a little ruff.
The view was amazing
No hot water. took a shower at 10am just got in and put shampoo in my hair and bam cold water, could not even wash my body only had hot water for one-minute, next day I took a shower at 7am, same thing happened. If I can't take a 5 minute shower I don't want to stay
I like property, but did not like the room we were in.
I didn’t like the room, we did not have a screen on the window. So we couldn’t really have it open at night.
The ocean view was amazing - loved the huge windows along the entire back side of the cottage.
Nothing, it’s just a little old and could use some updating, but honestly it’s kind of part of the charm.
All I can say is that I'm glad a friend of mine gave the Esterlee a try again and told me things had improved. Two disastrous stays and I had given up: rude desk people, horrible state of affairs of repairs, weeds everywhere. It was awful. But someone decided to make personnel changes and to start taking care of this aging hotel like she deserves to be cared for: the facilities are very dated, but you're not here for a new kitchen. It's the view. Thank you to whoever decided that this lovely old hotel deserved real care, and that guests deserved polite staff who care.
Not much, just general repairs. The place is old.
the view

The location and view was AMAZING. Room was very clean and had all the typical essentials, like bathroom soaps, towels, coffee maker, fridge, etc. The view was the best part! Staff was also nice and helpful.
Although the core offerings met what we needed out of the room, there was a lot left to be desired for the price they charge. Aesthetically, the room was old and so were several of the appliances and fixtures in the unit. Everything just kinda looked and felt old and needed updating. I won’t rag too hard, because we still enjoyed our stay, but several things could use updating for the rates they’re charging.
Location was excellent. Exceptional ocean view. Short walk to beach .
There is a window next to the room door, it has a blind that won’t cover the window completely and the lights in the hallway keeps the room lit all night. I have to have the room dark in order sleep and the light kept me up all night.
Location was good. It’s just difficult and somewhat unsafe pulling out on to highway 101 from the parking lot. I also liked the layout of the room. The Beds were comfortable
And the Staff was lovely. Rooms were clean and you couldn’t beat the price. $187.5 for a apartment size hotel room is a screening deal!
Doors didn’t work properly. Some lightbulbs were out.
The fireplace didn’t work.
The downstairs bedroom with the two twin beds didn’t have a TV. And neither did the bedroom upstairs.
It would’ve been a nice touch to have TVs in the room
