Pros:

The staff are friendly & helpful. The food is great. The bed was comfy, so I had a good nights sleep.

Cons:

Unfortunately the window kept sliding shut.
Also there wasn't much room to get in or out of the shower.

Very convenient to all our family and travels.
Pros:

First day room was hot! Weather changed and cooled down! Little noisy from The George Pub. Ear plugs worked just fine. Enjoyed the management,

Cons:

Old fat boy didm't enjoy the stairs, But that was my fault for being old and out of shape.

Pros:

Friendly staff, breakfast good, room ready on arrival, lovely interesting older building. Pies from the pie shop are delicious! Great location to attend a concert at Milton Keynes Bowl without paying silly prices.

Cons:

Very few staff, one person seems to be attending to all areas of the hotel- pie shop, restaurant, check in. Which made service seem slow and a little unorganised.

Pros:

Wonderful traditional hotel. Our room was a beautiful corner room with huge windows. We loved the vintage decor and furniture, but with such a comfy modern bed. The bathroom was incredible too. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food was great. We wished we could have stayed longer. We'll definitely try and make it back one day 😃

Cons:

There wasn't a great deal of water pressure for the shower but being such a beautiful old building we really didn't mind

Disappointing
Pros:

Good location

Cons:

The property clearly has received no investment for years. It looks and feels tired. Whilst clean on the surface it feels like it needs a deep clean. Rooms were ok but so dated. I think the bell relies on no local competition and has taken it for granted

Good in parts
Pros:

The staff are helpful and friendly. The food is hearty, well prepared, and delicious. The ambience is lovely.

Cons:

On this occasion the heatwaves had conspired with the fabric of the building to give us a room, Room 4, which was a terrible temperature. Without a thermometer, we guess it was in the 30s. There was a fan in the room when we first arrived, but it wasn't switched on and the door and window were shut, so the room was hot and extremely stuffy. I asked later on if there was another room we could move to. While I was offered a basement room which isn't usually available, I turned it down as it wasn't suitable for other reasons. We'd brought a fan with us for work, so ended up having two fans running all night, the window wide open, and the door propped open until my husband needed to sleep. I ended up attempting to sleep on the floor as it was the coolest part of the room, but still too hot.

We told staff about the experience when checking out, and requested never to be put in that room again! They confirmed we're in a different room for our next visit.

I must repeat, the staff were always really helpful and sympathetic, and did their best under the circumstances. I do feel that that room should not have been used at that temperature though.

Perfectly located for Silverstone
Pros:

Location, near to Silverstone and local area was very nice with restaurant choices and alternative pub choices. Clean and friendly staff

Cons:

No air conditioning, very small bathroom. Bed was very uncomfortable, could do with a mattress change. Breakfast not served before 8am which meant we paid for breakfast but didn’t eat it as needed to leave earlier.

2 day stay worth it for the pies alone.
Pros:

Fantastic old pub with real character. The room I had was a little dated in decor but was clean with a comfortable bed and functional bathroom. It’s what I needed travelling on my own for 2 days. The pies were outstanding and the breakfast was ok, the staff were amazingly professional and friendly. The weather was very hot and the evening was helped by a fan in the room. I would stay again next time I visit.

Cons:

I’m not sure if this is usual, I didn’t have any shampoo or shower gel so had to use the hand soap bar from the sink. The decor was a little dated and carpets worn in room. Minor things as the hotel, staff & pub were great.

Good location, nice pub in a nice town with great food and friendly staff & locals.
Pros:

Our evening meal was really nice, proper, well cooked homemade pub grub. The pies they make on site are fantastic.
Breakfast was nice, the only disappointment was the scrambled egg which had an odd consistency and little flavour.

Cons:

Although we enjoyed our stay, the one problem for myself was that the bed was too hard for my taste and I didn't manage to get much sleep.
