The interiors, the location, the friendly and helpful staff, the size of our room and the way it was furnished. The size of the car park, the food.
The guests in the room above us were noisy
Excellent staff. Great food. Fabulous location.
Easy parking.
We did book a 'compact room' and it was! Was fine for one night. Not a fan of the 'snow soap' especially for washing hair. Luckily I'd packed my own shower gel.
Garden views - Lovely room
No staff on site overnight - bar shuts early during off peak time of year
Location, interesting building , staff were friendly
Room we stayed in overlooked the garden but no voile curtain for privacy, had to draw curtains which wasn't ideal as it was daylight and hot.
Good selection at buffet breakfast, disappointed with hot choice of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Extremely salty, salmon mixed in with the eggs which meant it was partially cooked, strange way to serve them.
Evening meal, overcooked hake, very dry and new potatoes that had a texture suggesting, they had been sat or reheated .
Such a shame as the menu had great choices.
Location excellent. Beautiful surroundings. Staff friendly. Breakfast was very good.
Staff friendly and helpful. Great pillows.
Room a bit old and needs a refurb. Bed needs replacing. Not very comfortable.
Comfortable bed and dog friendly. Great breakfast and good size dinner portions. Olde Wrld building with great patio and garden area.
Car parking spaces a little too narrow and short for modern cars. (Although plenty of spaces available.)
Delicious breakfast.
Delightful staff
The staff were wonderful and welcoming, the Sunday roast was amazing .
We were warned about the noise in the vermilion room but the room was literally shaking. We couldn't hear each other and yes it really spoiled the night. Despite being warned we felt it was underplayed.
Lovely period building with original features, very quaint. quiet - even though we were above the bar. 5 minutes from the lovely forest of Dean and Symonds Yat etc. A lovely breakfast and fantastic staff.
Room a little tired, could have had more plug sockets for the modern world of charging devices etc. Shower could of had either a door/curtain or bigger screen to help prevent water getting on the floor.
The dinner service and setting were lovely, as were the staff.
The bar is very noisy late into the night (beyond 23:00 by the time things finally fell quiet) and because of where my room was I was kept awake by the din.
Great location , relatively comfortable
I did not like the soap dispensers in the bathrooms. They were difficult to use and did not dispense enough soap.
