Loved the hotel.
Pros:

Amazing location, room was great, very clean and spacious and the staff were brilliant.

Cons:

The bar wasn’t open late and the roof bar didn’t open til 5. Showers weren’t easy to regulate temperature

Great, but need gym addressed
Pros:

Everything great but one real issue, gym needs to open earlier. Especially with being in central time zone, more meetings are earlier on EST time, and 6am is way too late for business travelers. Gyms should be 24/7. In this case 5am will work. 6am too late

A beautiful hotel in the best location
Pros:

The location, the room, the atmosphere and the event space and service were all exceptional. I can’t wait to return. In a city filled with pretty average hotel rooms, Viceroy was a highlight.

High-end Chicago luxury with a top-notch staff
Pros:

Incredible stay - we ordered a Grand King room and ended up with a One Bedroom Lake View Suite. Pure luxury in all 3 rooms. Great views including a sliver of Lake Michigan. The staff was super kind - thank Brady for helping us off the street in a flash with our huge cart full of bags. Swam in the rooftop pool every morning and were the only ones in there. The Somerset restaurant was great - loved the potatoes. Separate to-go coffee bar was clutch.

Cons:

No parking or vehicle entryway, but the bellhop service on the curb was excellent. We ended up using spot hero to find a cheaper lot on the block that was around $40/day.

Amazing Staff at The Viceroy Chicago!

I had the opportunity to host a 150 person cocktail reception at The Viceroy Chicago in June of 2026. I’m so glad I worked with the entire team at The Viceroy Chicago. From the beginning our catering Sales Manager Dulce Rodriguez was wonderful to work with - organized, polished and professional. She made planning a breeze and I would love the opportunity to work with her again. When our team arrived onsite we were immediately greeted by the helpful and friendly banquets team. Randy White, Director of Banquets, Kendall Delaney, Banquet Manager & Mario Castro, Banquet Capitan made me and the entire team feel extremely welcome at the property. We received an extraordinary level of hospitality. When a request was made it was fulfilled within minutes, the team quickly moved our guests from the lobby to the fourth level where we hosted our event with no issues, and we heard amazing feedback from our guests on the quality of staff (hospitable, always smiling and cracking jokes with our guests). Overall our team felt extremely taken care of and we could actually enjoy the event and knew The Viceroy Banquets team had the rest taken care of. We will be back!

Event Space with A+ Service
Pros:

Randy, the Director of Banquets gives stellar Service and has a great team! We book the spot a few times a year for events and he takes care of us with A+ service every time. The Viceroy is lucky to have him!

Great location, nice hotel, but a few things to improve on
Pros:

The location was perfect - beautiful area close to the lake with great shopping and dining nearby. The hotel was clean and fresh looking. The rooms were well appointed, although the shower was almost impossible to work - both the temperature control and the diverter weren't working properly. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We had one issue when we smelled smoke from the ductwork in our room; when we called the desk, we were told a maintenance person would be up asap. We waited 15 minutes and no one came or called us, so we went down to the front desk and were told they'd determined it was coming from a fire in an outdoor dumpster (someone should have called us back to tell us that). The attached restaurant was convenient, but only so-so with service and food options. The price was very reasonable for the hotel's prime location.

Great event experience
Pros:

I hosted an event for my company at the Viceroy rooftop. The venue is absolutely stunning with gorgeous views of downtown and the lake.

Dulce was great in making sure I had everything prepared leading up to the event and the Banquet team handled all my requests with ease, including some of my unique one off requests. I really appreciated Randy and his team for their service.
