Hotel Bohinj

Hotel Bohinj is a fantastic stay in Slovenia. Last year when we were in the area, we saw the hotel and decided we'd like to stay there. The location is perfect: central and yet still secluded in the woods (yet still with lake views!) and up on a hill, it's quieter than the busier area around it.

The luxuries within the hotel are so beautiful. Room design is thoughtful, spacious, and alpine-themed which makes it feel young and fun while still elevated. The wellness center has a Finnish sauna, steam room, ice/cold therapy, jacuzzi/pool, salt room, and great little refreshments. You get 2h per day as a part of your stay, which keeps it quiet and from getting too busy. The robes are comfy, the slippers are really creative, and you feel immediately relaxed.

We also really enjoyed the restaurant. The breakfast is a great combo of delicious/rich + healthy. With lots of smoothies, chia pudding and fresh produce next to pastries, 6 types of honey, and all the meat and cheese you could want, this is a great buffet. The dinner menu is also delicious and very local.

All in all, we loved it and are excited to come back on future visits to our favorite lake in our favorite country.

Hotel Bohinj is so much more than just a hotel to me – it is a place I keep returning to for peace, inspiration, and the genuine feeling of being truly welcome.
My partner and I always find a space there where time seems to slow down. Evenings on the beautiful terrace by the fire, accompanied by live music and thoughtfully curated events, create an atmosphere where we can simply be present and enjoy the moment together. Experiences like these have become increasingly rare.
From my very first visit, I have been impressed by the warmth of the entire team, the exceptional cuisine, the impeccable attention to detail, and the deep respect for nature that can be felt throughout the hotel.
As a dog owner, I especially appreciate how warmly four-legged guests are welcomed. A comfortable dog bed, treats, and a thoughtful welcome gift make it clear that hospitality here extends to every member of the family.
Hotel Bohinj is one of those rare places where excellence is not defined by luxury alone, but by genuine kindness, heartfelt hospitality, and care for every little detail. That is why we always return with great joy and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, high-quality, and truly memorable experience.

Przepiękny design wnętrz, to po prostu trzeba zobaczyć, ponadto wyśmienite śniadanie z bogatym wyborem potraw; codziennie przed hotelem grill i wystawy miejscowych rzemieślników, można w spokoju posiedzieć w fotelu na zewnątrz racząc się trunkami lub hamburgerem i posłuchać muzyki na żywo; Fantastycznie prowadzony i czułem się w nim bardzo zadbany; Polecam.

Excellent breakfast. We really liked the fact that the hotel was built as being sustainable and to work with the environment. We loved the fact that it celebrated local suppliers and produce.
The massages I had with Sasha were truly brilliant. The spa receptionist, Ela was lovely.

Great locarion, wonderful view, and beautifully designed. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended!!!

We really liked a lot of things about this hotel. The rooms were comfortable, the staff was friendly, we liked the outdoor space, beautiful hotel furnishings. Great breakfast. Two cons, the comforter on our king bed was too small. The pool area/ Wellness Center lacks spontaneity. Because the pool is SO tiny you have to schedule a two hour appointment. For us on vacation we don’t always know what we are going to be doing and how long we are going to do it, so scheduling pool time is pointless. We only used this once; on our check in day because we were there early.

Breakfast was fine. The lake is nearby.

We spent a single evening here during a supported bike tour. A very nice hotel. Highlights include the spa and wellness area, which is really exceptional. Our room was lovely, clean, and quiet. Breakfast was very good.

I’m giving a 4/5 due to some service misses. On arrival, we wandered around the property a bit trying to discern the entrance. Staff member certainly could see us and maybe guide us in. This was a minor inconvenience.

Dinner, unfortunately, was the low light of our experience. The cheese appetizer was literally just a ton of cheese (not described as such and exact same items were available at the breakfast buffet), my wife’s pasta dish was simply not good, and the dessert (Bohinj Cake) was tasty but it didn’t come with forks - eating it with spoons was actually frustrating. Lastly, we were never checked on for additional drinks and had to chase our server down for the check.

As mentioned, breakfast was good but the fresh eggs station was unmanned the entire time we were seated. The staff mostly hung around the bar chatting. As far as the restaurant goes, with the exception of the main bartender, I felt like a burden to staff. Recommend getting a burger a five minute walk down the street instead of burning your time at the restaurant.

Van bij het aankomen straalt het hotel rust uit. Supermooie ligging, zicht op het meer. Heel vriendelijk personeel, ze geven onmiddellijk een warm welkom gevoel. De kamer was perfect, ruim en netjes. Ontbijt top!
