A great view on the rooftop patio during happy hour.
Pros:

A fun sunny afternoon on the rooftop patio of the Broadview hotel during happy hour. The Margarita's were delicious. Our group of 4 shared the calamari , the truffle fries and the mushroom dumplings and everything was very tasty. But the most outstanding part of our experience was our wonderful server, and I am sorry I did not get his name. He was so friendly and attentive! He went to great lengths to move 2 patio umbrellas for us when we were getting too much sun, he was interested in making sure we had the best time!

A unique, boutique hotel which I look forward to revisiting.
Pros:

In general, this boutique hotel, a landmark building in the Riverdale area of Toronto beautifully restored while retaining much of it s historic charm, was immaculately clean and the staff very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast at the scenic 7th floor Rooftop bistro was excellent, in particular the Smoked Salmon Royale with a side of avocado.
There was a record turntable in the room and a library of music available to access. Thought that was a nice touch.
Given my short stay, I felt that there was still much about the hotel to explore and discover.

Cons:

I spent the first hour on my arrival looking for a parking space and ended up at a Green P lot across the street which required three renewals over the length of my one-night stay for a total cost of $45.00. The hotel has a few spaces available down the lane beside the hotel for $28.00 a night but it is first come first served. I was obviously second come.
Value for money? My one night stay on Saturday, May 30 came to $739.00, taxes included, for a relatively small room with a brick wall for a view. I needed to be in the area for a local event so it was my most viable option. A moneysaving tip. If you are flexible time-wise, the hotel's rates seem to be significantly lower on Sundays and weekdays. It's a tip I will take myself when looking at a return visit for pleasure rather than business.

Great Getaway!
Pros:

Beautiful, unique hotel. The Rooftop Restaurant was fantastic - delicious food and friendly, helpful staff. Location perfect for us as we were going to an event at History, but tram stops right out front so we were easily able to get around the city. Fun neighborhood bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

Unbearably loud
Pros:

This is a nicely updated hotel with pleasant amenities close to downtown Toronto. I visited for two nights for a family wedding which was also taking place in the hotel. I liked our room, and the bed was comfortable. But it was unbearably loud. We were given room 201, which is right next to a service stairwell, which itself leads down a short corridor to one of the hotel's event spaces. Not only did the door to the stairwell slam shut literally all day and all night - so loud that it shook the furniture in our room - there was also no sound insulation from noise in the hallway, which included hundreds of guests passing by, talking at full volume, and extremely loud music until 2am. The air conditioner came on every 30 minutes and was as loud as a vacuum cleaner. The windows looked out over a service alleyway, where trucks unload/pick up all day and night. Alarms rang at odd hours. There didn't seem to be sound transfer from above or below but our room had zero sound insulation from the hallway/adjacent stairwell. Perhaps other rooms in this hotel are better ... but I will never stay here again. If you have any concerns about noise, avoid this hotel.

Disappointing
Pros:

Air conditioner sounds like a hurricane. $30 per hour late checkout fee? What BS.

Calme a Toronto
Pros:

Confortable, bien situé

Du vrai café dans les chambres serait un plus. Mais l’instantané offert est bon!

Very strong smell throughout
Pros:

The cleanliness of the room and the central location were amazing.

Cons:

Throughout the hotel there is a "signature scent" being pumped through a machine in the lobby and I could smell it in the hall on our floor and even in our room. When I asked the woman at the front desk about it, I was told I needed to request a hypoallergenic room. I think if the hotel is pumping out fragrance, it should be noted somewhere, especially since there are many guests, including myself, who are veey sensitive to strong scents. A hypoallergenic room wouldn't solve the issue of having the strong smell in the main areas.
