Very modern and quirky. Absolutely stunning 10/10 view of Shanghai skyline from room (if you choose room with a view) and from pool.

Cons:

We had booked this hotel primarily for the view from rooftop pool and only had 2 nights here as it was a layover / end of our 1 month holiday.
The pool opens at 10am and closes at 6pm (which gives you no time to be able to swim if you are out doing activities during the day). Also it was ever so slightly spitting when we wanted to use the pool and we were told by the pool staff that the pool was closed. So we went out and carried on with our day. Then came back later in the afternoon, checked in with pool reception if the outside pool was open - which is was. Popped back to our room to get our swimming gear on, came back to the pool only to be told that now it is closed again. It was not even raining. This was very frustrating.
We popped to the restaurant and bar to have a drink and lunch outside on the rooftop with the view of Shanghai skyline, only to be told that outside is closed and does not open until 6pm. It was 38 degrees outside and full sunshine which we found bizzare that we were not aloud to sit outside. We ended up complaining about not being able to use the pool and sit outside. The staff finally decided to let us use the pool and also sit outside to have lunch and a drink. The staff said that it was hotel policy and seemed to understand our frustration. Thankfully we managed to get staff to allow us to go outside but I feel like it should not be this difficult. Staff were great about it and we received an apology gift during breakfast on our last day which was a nice touch. However if the pool was accessible and we didn’t have to complain about being able to sit outside for lunch during summer then I would have rated the hotel 10/10.

Best ever!
Pros:

This is one of the best luxury hotels I’ve ever stayed at, with the most breathtaking view of the Shanghai Bund. A special thanks to the concierge team, especially Jack and Roser, who were incredibly kind and went above and beyond to help me track down the taxi after I accidentally left my bag inside. I truly appreciate their patience, kindness, and exceptional hospitality. They made my stay even more memorable.

This is probably the best place in Shanghai for the view.

Cons:

A few things I didn’t like not a lot of the stuff in the room is free not enough room for a bin, the fridge has drinks and stuff already in it at premium prices if you want them so if you want to buy your own drink the fridge is pretty much full so you’ll need to make space for your stuff which isn’t a lot of space. I’d much prefer an empty fridge so I can add my own food and drink for my stay or the drinks inside was complimentary and not 2-3x the prices I can get from the downstairs 711.
The WiFi wasn’t good at all pretty much useless for foreigners.
Especially when being a foreigner (maybe due to the stupid firewall) hopefully in the future China gets rid of that stupid block so people can watch Netflix, prime and live sports in peace when they want. Basically couldn’t use the TV once. Ruined the whole experience for me tbh
Was hoping to either connect to a VPN which just wouldn’t connect either so that was disappointing was stuck using slow data the whole time.

Breakfast was decent, but rather pricey at more than 250CNY
Room condition can be improved, although service recovery wasn't proactively offered.
Excellent service especially by breakfast staff. Unfortunately none of the staff are wearing nametags so we dont know who they are.
Room attendant 郭传琴/郭佳秦 also very warm and friendly. Wayne Zheng, Director of Rooms helped us on our onward journey and even gave us suggestions for places to visit, and the staff checking us in were also very helpful and patient and check-in was efficient and we were also given a welcome drink on arrival
